Nordic Trip: Gothenburg
🌞 Arrived at Gothenburg Central Station at 3 p.m., took the tram to the hotel to check in, then switched straight into city-explorer mode. 🌞With cold, rainy weather we hurried to Feskekôrka fish market for a warming fish soup—it opens at 5 p.m. and the broth was wonderfully rich. Well fed, we headed to Lilla Bommen harbour for a look at the Lipstick Building. 🌞 Gustaf Adolf’s Square – the king’s statue and lively street scenes. 💙 Gothenburg Cathedral. 💙 Wandered Haga Old Town and shared the famous giant cinnamon roll from Café Husaren—so fragrant two of us couldn’t finish it! 🏰 Oscar Fredrik Church – Gothic exterior straight out of a Miyazaki film. 🏰 Gothenburg Botanical Garden (free entry) 🌿 Forest paths, waterfalls, rock garden, tropical greenhouse… 🍜 11:30 lunch at Sjobaren Fish & Seafood in Haga: 🍽 seafood soup + pan-fried fish with mash—excellent! Bonus free bread, sides, coffee and mini dessert. 💬 Gothenburg isn’t jaw-dropping at first sight, but it slowly wins you over. No checklist pressure—just Nordic charm in every detail: harbour, old town, pastries, churches, gardens… every corner worth lingering in. #GothenburgTrip #Gothenburg #SwedenTravel #NordicTravel
