This used to be on of my favorite places for fika in Gothenburg. I always get cardamom cake and a latte, and the staff was always friendly. Today I had a horrible experience there with one of the women taking my order. She is in her 40s, tan, blonde hair, green eyes, and a tall, long nose. I should’ve gotten her name because she ruined my day. She was extremely rude from the get-go. When I asked her if they had any cardamom cake, she looked disgusted as if I had just farted loudly or something. I asked her again because she hadn’t answered and she pointed at the pastry selection and said, “We have that,” still looking slightly disgusted. When I asked her what was in the chicken quiche, besides chicken (Ex: peppers), she said, “Well yeah chicken,” and her expression changed to a condescending one. Her whole demeanor was rude and dismissive from the moment she saw me, so instead of taking my time ordering, I just wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible and leave. And that’s what I did. That woman shouldn’t be working in the service industry and if I see her again I’m asking for someone else to take my order. So...
Read moreI was a bit disappointed with the place. Sure, you can make the biggest cinnamon bun in the world, but your other items need to live up to the hype. There was quite a queue to enter the place. So, some disappointments, the key lime cannoli wasn't that great. The filling was not balanced, I've had a more refined one from the grocery store baker if I'm being bluntly honest. They also had a snickers brownie, where they've tried their version of a deconstructed snickers bar, with the crisps at the bottom, and peanut butter cream and chocolate on top, quite disappointing really. Their cookies were quite underwhelming, again like I said, I've had better from other places. The biggest disappointment was their lemon cake. Anyway, the cafe is gimmicky, the biggest cinnamon bun was famously a mistake, but they've refined the mistake. Location wise it's quite good, especially after you've climbed up Skansen Kronan and have walked down the 'Kings path' straight into the 'Haga' part of the town where they are located. I'm giving it a 3 star because I think the bun is famous, and gimmicky, and is worth a visit...
Read moreWorst service I have ever experienced! After over 45 min (!) in line with my 3 year old child (who was sooo exited to buy the big cinamon bun) they did not have any left on the inside and where so short and rude in their tone! I saw that they where also selling it on the outside on the Street so I asked if I could possebly pay for it on the inside and show it outside or if they could just get one for my son after almost an hour in line! Without even trying to solve the situation in any way, they just said "no we cant or we can but we wont you can just stand in line again outside" (!?!) I answered "well my son is very little and we have been in line for so long already cant we solve this in a simpler way?" "Nope sorry". So rude and ZERO service feeling from 3 employes....so slow behind the desc and so rude! Used to be a very special place when I grew up and it was suppose to be a special visit for me and my child..worst experience and ended up buying nothing with a sad and dissapointed child... wont go there again and wouldnt recommend it at all..anymore...sadly. Miss the real owners...
