The Chicago Botanic Garden (CBG) in the north suburbs of Chicago is definitely worth a visit! On a nice day, whether you’re strolling along the trails or taking a tram tour around the garden, it’s a wonderful experience. Spending two hours away from the hustle and bustle of the city can really change your whole mindset. 👉 Opening Hours Open daily from 08:00am to 08:00pm (08:00am to 10:00am for members only). 👉 Admission Cook County residents $23.95, non-residents$25.95, parking fee $10. Individual annual membership$115, includes free admission/parking for one car; dual annual membership $135, comes with two admission tickets and two orchid show tickets. There are designated free admission days each month. 👉 Attractions As you enter, you’ll see the Crescent Garden and the Heritage Garden. In the center of the main island is the Regenstein Center with Bonsai Courtyards, and to the north is The Esplanade with a broad view. In the northwest corner of the main island, there’s the Fruit & Vegetable Garden (with free potted plants and lemonade), the Aquatic Garden (with lotus flowers), and the Model Railroad Garden, among others. The Rose Garden, English Oak Meadow, and Waterfall Garden on the east side of the main island are also beautifully maintained. Evening Island to the south features a bell tower and small hills. 👉Heading southwest from Evening Island, you’ll find Dixon Prairie (with hills leading to an island in the lake), and to the southeast, there’s the Plant Science Center and Lavin Evaluation Garden, which focus on plant science research.
