Sando Street β Cute Japanese-Style Sandwiches π₯ͺ
I was a big fan of Cat-Su Sandoβs Japanese sandwiches before it closed after just a year π’ Recently, Chicago finally got two new spots for Japanese-style sando β Yokocho and Sando Street, the latter opened in the former Phodega location. π₯ Classic Egg Salad Sando Soft-boiled eggs with a runny yolk, mixed with creamy mayo and nori flakes β every bite is pure comfort. π βKFCβ Korean Fried Chicken Sando Made with juicy thigh meat (not dry breast β Asians understand Asians! π), tossed in sweet-spicy Korean sauce with refreshing cucumber and slaw. Much more flavorful than typical American chicken sandwiches. π Hawaiian-Style Spam Sando Layers of neatly stacked spam, egg omelette, rice cake, and nori, glazed with teriyaki sauce. π Ube Cream Strawberry Sando Light ube cream (subtle but lovely) paired with mildly sweet American strawberries. (Thereβs also a matcha cream version if you prefer!) Weekends get busy β you can order online for pickup to skip the wait. Each sandwich comes with a side of sweet potato chips π Most can be customized with extra meat or veggies, making them great for a quick weekday lunch or lazy weekend brunch. Note: Closed on Sundays!
