I haven't had a good Sando in YEARS, so I was super excited to go and try Sando street!
First thing's first, the food..... Me & my daughter ordered three sandwiches and split them all so we could get a little taste of everything.
OG Tamago - ($12) I don't think I've had an egg salad sandwich that I have enjoyed more than this one. I'm not sure what seasonings they use, but the flavors are simple, but 100% on point! The soft boiled egg in the middle is a great touch, and the bread is crust-less, soft & fluffy but able to hold the sandwich together well.
Bulgogi - ($15) I'm not going to lie, when I saw the sandwich split down the middle my first thought was that this bad boy needs some more of that bulgogi rib eye.... Once I started eating I can say that the meat to cheese to cabbage to bread ratios were great. The meat was flavorful, and I didn't get any fatty or gristly pieces (pet peeve), and again that bread.... yum!
Matcha Creme with Strawberries - Just give me a pint of matcha creme and send me on my way please! Lol, not really. This sandwich was light and creamy. The matcha flavor and sweetness were good without being overwhelming, and wrapped up our Sando experience nicely.
All the non-dessert sandwiches come with a side of sweet potato chips. You don't get that many, and for me they were underwhelming, but to each their own. I dipped mine in the kimchi aioli that dripped from my Bulgogi sandwich and worked it out.
We went on a weekday at about 11:30-12. The area gets pretty congested, but we were able to find parking on Ashland about a block down (I can't remember if it was free or metered), and walked over. They weren't too busy and we were able to place our orders quickly and get a booth right away. The space is not huge, but clean. Our sandwiches came out in about 15 minutes, so the wait wasn't long. Once we started eating the place filled up fairly quickly. Staff were courteous and fast, and came to check on our table once while we were eating. The price tag is a little high ($60 for 3 sandos, 2 drinks, & tip), but you got to treat yourself sometimes & ultimately I was not disappointed by the flavors Sando Street...

Went for a spontaneous date. Tried the Tonkatsu and "KFC" Sandos (their most popular) first and gotta say the sauces are very unique. That "KFC" sauce alone is unlike any sauce I've tasted on chicken and is quite truly the best sauce I've ever had paired with chicken in my life. You think Cane's or Chick-Fil-A sauce are good? Nah, that's garbo compared to Sando. We also tried the Ube and Matcha Sandos and they were great deserts, thought they were ice cream at first but they're just delicious cream filling accompanied by strawberries so you don't have to worry about them melting.
Gotta also shout out the customer service. Kelvin took our order and was one of two working at the time, and he was a very wholesome, kind, and overall a great dude and provided great service delivering the food to our tables and answering any questions we had.
The atmosphere is pretty cool too. They've got 3 ambient booths, some tables in the middle, and a window bar with a dope graffiti aesthetic. They've also got some pretty dope artwork up including Goku by the windows. The gf pointed out that the artwork by the booths were from a famous urban artist which were pretty cool.
TLDR: Definitely check out Sandos!...
Read moreThe Sandwiches: To put it simply, they're... basic. Don’t get me wrong—fresh ingredients and well-prepared meats are all present. But there’s an undeniable sense of simplicity that might leave you craving a bit more excitement in your bites. Each sandwich feels like it’s playing it safe, sticking to the fundamentals without daring to venture into culinary creativity.
The Price Tag: Here’s where things get a bit dicey. For what you get, the prices are undeniably on the higher end. It’s the kind of place where you’d expect your wallet to feel a bit lighter by the end of your meal. You might wonder if the chic ambiance and prime location are factored into each sandwich’s cost.
Here’s the silver lining—Sando Street is worth a visit, at least once. There’s something to be said for giving it a shot, if only to see what the fuss is about. The overall experience, from the decor to the friendly service, makes for a pleasant outing.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a sandwich that will knock your socks off with innovative flavors, Sando Street might not be your destination. But if you’re curious and willing to splurge a little for the sake of checking it off your foodie list, it’s an experience worth...
