Skip the Speakeasy: This Stunning Chicago Hotel Bar is an Adult Playground with Games and History in the Loop

If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s feeling perpetually young—that’s why the Game Room at the Chicago Athletic Association is the perfect place to experience nostalgic youth. It’s truly an adult playground. The sprawling bar features pool tables, chess boards, a full bocce court , and skeeball and shuffleboard, providing plenty of entertainment between rounds of affordable, well-crafted drinks and snacks like dry-rubbed wings or gooey Wisconsin cheese sticks. Yet that’s not the only place where you’ll find loud music and a crowded room. Starting December 4, Chicago’s Athletic Association Happy’s is back for its farewell season. Transporting you back to your grandmother’s basement, all the favorites are returning, including Happy’s meals, signature cocktails, and merry décor.
