Walked in looking to enjoy an evening with my wife and while standing at the bar ordering drinks a young woman came and sat down directly next to where my wife is in an open seat and instead of saying excuse me she proceeds to nudge her and not say excuse me which I then said to her "If you just say excuse me my wife would move out your way" in which she apologized and I responded it was fine we all make mistakes we smiled at each other and that was that. The woman who was nudging my wife had a male with her who saw the exchange die down and then says "well she was sitting there first so she shouldn't have to say excuse me you people can be rude sometimes" so I stood in front of him and asked him to repeat himself he clammed up and goes "you are rude my friend was there first how dare you tell her to say excuse me" at this point a spanish or off hued white male security comes up and directly came to me and my wife who are black and tells us we need to calm down or leave not even addressing the white male. I point this out to which they called a black security guard over to shush us like we were kids so I yelled at him to address us all or get out of my and my wifes faces then the security guard points his finger in my wifes face and my wife grabbed it and pushed him back and I stood in front of him and told him to raise his hand to a man if he really tough. I asked for a manager and all security told me they didn't know who the manager was and threatened to call the cops so I told them to call I didn't care I wasn't wrong. Police came and immediately said "Hey why didn't you guys just get the manager like they requested" to which security responded "They never asked for a manager they only were yelling at us" the police made the manager come out and give us a card before we left.
IF YOU ARE BLACK STEER CLEAR OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT THEY DON'T...

I will be disputing! Your server always ghost you. Apparently while playing skeeball and basketball games I payed for others games as well. 2 pool tables so we were not able to sign up for. Mismatched checker pieces. The also have chess pieces but you have to ask. I was told they had boardgames but they never brought any out. Private party brought their own gigantic jenga. 12 Oz beer in a glass 20 Oz in a plastic cup. No wine glass for the prosecco. Bathroom on mezzanine level below. My group felt totally ignored when I called out to my server several times. He left with my $100 ad ghosted 10 minutes. Didn't say it will be a .minute for me to break bill or anything. Hostess sent me to bar when I asked where my server was. Then when I returned after not getting help at the bar to ask for manager server shows to my table with my change. Three charges on my credit card the next day was the icing on the cake. This place is a rip off!! Beware, especially when play the electronic games. I'm not sure if it was because this was a social event, we were part of 100 pl that signed up. We never saw the event host, Eric. I couldn't even get apple or lemon drop martini or cosmo, really!? Wings were good but $17 for 6 wingettes and celery sticks with ranch. My friend said her smashburger was good just missing bacon and mushrooms for her taste. First and LAST time there. My other friend uses a walker, I wouldn't recommend a wheelchair on a Saturday night although I saw one person but I'm pretty sure they parked in one spot due...

The combination of quality drinks, delicious burgers, and unique atmosphere makes this spot a must-visit when in the area (especially if you're staying at the hotel).
The Old Fashioned here is truly outstanding. According to the bartender, they batch make it with what he believes is Eagle Rare bourbon (though they've been experimenting with different options). Whatever their formula, it results in a perfectly balanced cocktail that highlights the quality of the spirits they're using.
For food, I went with the Double Smashburger with Cheese, which was impressively juicy and flavorful. The real standout companions were the fries, which came cooked to exactly the right level of crispiness; not too soft, not too crunchy, but just perfect. If you've read my other reviews, you know I'm particular about fry texture, and these hit the mark perfectly.
The atmosphere might be the most distinctive aspect of Game Room. The preserved historic architecture of the Chicago Athletic Association creates a unique ambiance that you simply can't find in newer establishments. The space maintains its old-world charm while functioning as a modern dining venue and true to its name, game room (although I was only here for the food and drinks).
Should you visit Game Room inside the Chicago Athletic Association hotel, I hope you enjoy the experience as...
