Suburban Chicago’s Lunchtime Lifesaver — Ramen USA 🍜
Back when I worked in the office, Umacamon was our go-to lunch spot — cheap, hearty, and comforting, a true midday rescue for tired office warriors. Then one Chinese New Year, a sign went up: “Temporarily closed.” Google soon updated it to “permanently closed,” and I was genuinely sad. Turns out, they just rebranded to Ramen USA — same team, same spirit, now in Arlington Heights! 🍜 $17 Meat Champ Ramen – A mountain of meat and assorted fish cakes. Not gourmet ramen, but unbeatable value — pure carb happiness in a bowl. 🍜 Udon with Tempura – My old Umacamon favorite. Simple, warm udon with crispy shrimp tempura — soul-soothing and filling. 🍜 California Roll Plus – Not tiny slices, but four hearty pieces of classic California roll. 🍜 Mini Unagi Don (+$16.99 with udon set) – “Mini” is misleading — this bowl is plenty filling on its own, especially for lighter appetites. 🥗 Free Salad Bar – Order any $11+ dish and you get access to the fresh, clean salad bar at no extra cost. The fried peanuts taste just like homemade — a lovely touch. Hot water and tea are also complimentary (so Asian-friendly!). Told the owner I used to love Umacamon, and she was all smiles. This place is a true suburban gem — fresh, affordable, and full of heart. 📍 Ramen USA 932 W Algonquin Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60005 #RamenUSA #UmacamonReincarnated #SuburbanEats #ArlingtonHeights #JapaneseComfortFood
