🍞 Super Impressive Filipino Bakery in Chicago ✨
Checked out this new Filipino bakery this weekend—it’s pretty small with no seating, which only added to the lively vibe! Went around 11 AM and luckily didn’t have to wait long. The flavors were a delicious surprise! 🍞 Del Sur 📍 4639 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL 60625 ☕️ Planned to grab coffee from the café across the street to enjoy with our pastries, but the staff said no outside food allowed. So we took our coffees across the road and sat on a shaded wooden bench under the sun—still a cozy little moment! ✨ Today’s haul: 💖 Longanisa Croissant – Savory Filipino sausage croissant, tasted like floss pork inside—my favorite of the day! 🍋 Calamansi – Shaped like a big mushroom 🍄🟫 with a lemon hat. Tangy, refreshing lemon filling—crisp and not heavy at all. Totally wowed me! 🧁 Pandan Basque Cake – Signature item! Strong pandan aroma with guava jam, looks gorgeous. A bit too sweet for me though. 🍌🥖 Turon Danish – Caramelized banana + vanilla custard, inspired by Filipino street snack turon. Rich and fragrant but the glaze was a little heavy and greasy for my taste. 🌾🥐 Toasted Rice Croissant – Crispy and light outside, soft and fluffy inside. Nice texture! Coffee + pastries + good weather + good company = a lovely morning. Great spot to try a few items with friends and share the joy! #Foodie #Chicago #BakeryLove #BreadHeaven #ChicagoEats #DessertTherapy #Sweets #Pastries #ChicagoLife #LifeInTheUS 🥐☀️💛
