The Brera Astronomical Observatory in Milan 🌟

✨The design of the Brera Astronomical Observatory is truly magnificent. The staff provides tablets and headphones, which use AR to explain the principles behind telescopes and more—it’s incredibly detailed and vivid. I had the whole afternoon to myself, exploring and pondering in silence. It was an amazing experience!!! 😎 ✨More importantly, this visit suddenly made me understand Kant’s philosophy. ✨Astronomers observe the stars, measure the movement of celestial bodies, and predict the change of seasons. At a fundamental level, this shapes our concept of space and time. This concept is also the starting point for understanding the world, what Kant refers to as “a priori forms,” the intrinsic framework through which we comprehend the world. ✨It reminded me of a program where Professor Zhang Shuangnan introduced how modern astronomers continue to explore the possibility of other life in the universe. The radio waves we’ve sent have yet to receive a response. This doesn’t mean there is no reply, but rather that these replies might transcend our cognitive framework. In other words, our cognitive abilities have inherent limitations, and phenomena beyond these limits may exist, but we might not be able to perceive or understand them. ✨The universe we know is a filtered and constructed image based on our cognitive framework, not its essence. As the last sentence on the Brera Observatory’s display board says: “We do not exhibit instruments for exploring the universe because the most important and complex tool is actually the human mind—our mind.” 🧠 #Philosophy #Kant #Astronomy #Museum #Milan #Italy #Brera #Thinking
