Trying Indian Food in Chicago & Lunar New Year Feasting π§§
Chinese New Year = eat out every day and gain a few poundsβ¦ Hereβs a little roundup! Indian Garden ππππ« My first taste of Indian food in Chicago β dragged here by my curry-loving partner. Didnβt expect much, but it was better than I thought! We ordered two naans, goat curry, and tandoori chicken. The curry was small but packed with flavor and tender bone-in goat meat. Only downside: super greasy. MingHin Cuisine πππ Probably Chicagoβs most famous Cantonese spot, with several locations. But go to the Chinatown flagship β the downtown branch is noticeably worse. The chicken feet were disappointing, and some dishes leaned toward American-Chinese style. Not recommended here! Lao Sze Chuan (Lao Gao BBQ) ππππ Back to its good form! The fatty lamb skewers and chicken hearts are my forever favorites. Tried their Northeast-style dandan noodles for the first time β tangy with sesame sauce, almost like liangpi. Really tasty! Cho Sun Ok ππππ« Go on a weekday β the βajummaβ service gets noticeably rushed and less friendly on weekends. The stone pot grilled meat is a must β and you can make fried rice in the same pot after. So fragrant! Also tried seolleongtang (ox bone soup) for the first time β light but you can season it yourself. Recommended! Beijing Restaurant ππππ As a Shanghainese, having Northern Chinese food for New Yearβs Eve dinner was a first! Beijing Restaurant and Four Seasons Dumplings are my top Northern spots in Chicago. #Chicago #ChicagoEats #ExploreChicago #ChinatownChicago #IndianFood #KoreanBBQ
