Upstate New York | Albany | Has the "Ceiling" of Chinese Food

👉👈We Went to Crossgates to Watch a Movie and Were Surprised to Find a New Chinese Restaurant Right Across the Street😊😊 🥩🥩The decor is traditional and elegant, and the menu covers three major cuisines—Cantonese, Sichuan, and Liaoning (plus American Chinese food)—all quite authentic, high-end, and classy. As soon as the movie ended, we rushed over to check it out and are bringing you the first review online!💓 No bias here: their Northeast Chinese dishes are excellent, while Sichuan and Cantonese dishes are relatively less outstanding. 🏵️🏵️ But in Albany (this "food desert"), it’s already more than impressive 😂😂. ❤️ Sweet and Sour (Squirrel Fish) 🐟 Though its shape is a bit silly-cute (the more you look, the funnier it gets 😂), the taste is really good! The fish is crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a perfectly balanced sweet and sour sauce. In Albany’s "food desert," this dish stands out! ❤️ Peach(Guobaorou / Crispy Sweet and Sour Pork) Crispier and tenderer than the version at Northeast Chinese restaurants. 🌳🌳 The peach pairing adds a fresh touch, and it’s slightly sweeter. I’m declaring the title of "Best Guobaorou in Upstate New York" has a new owner!🌴🌴 ✅ (Chuan Yue Spicy Dry-Fried Chicken) As soon as I saw the dried lantern chili peppers, I knew it would be good. It’s somewhere between authentic spicy dry-fried chicken and KFC Popcorn Chicken—just the right level of spiciness and aroma. I polished off half the plate by myself in no time!☘️☘️ ✅ 🌻 (Maoxuewang / Spicy Blood Curd Hot Pot) It’s as big as a washbasin—super impressive! It’s loaded with tripe, blood curd, and pork intestines. The sauce is a bit heavy, but since Fairy Sichuan closed, there’s no better Maoxuewang in Albany.🌺🌺 ⭕️ (Lotus Pond Stir-Fry) Very light. Adding half a spoonful more salt would bring out more freshness. 📍 Emperor Garden , Albany, NY ✅ Recommendation Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 🔪 Average Cost per Person: $40 🗓 Visit Date: February 2024🐯🐯 I’ll keep updating the "Must-Eat List" for Albany and the Berkshires (MA)—check my saved album for more!🍐🎼 Rating Key: ❤️ Must Try! | ✅ Delicious | ⭕️ Edible | ❌ Skip #RestaurantRecommendation #HiddenGemRestaurant #Food #FoodExploration #NewYorkWeekend #UpstateNewYork #AlbanyNYFood #AlbanyNY #AlbanyFood #AlbanyChineseRestaurants #UniversityAtAlbanySUNY #RensselaerPolytechnicInstitute #ZhuangYuanFoodDiary #WilliamsCollege #NewYorkSurroundings #AlbanyNewYorkState
