Since the pandemic, my favorite taco spot had been takeout only β but a friend said one of their locations reopened for dine-in, so I went for breakfast! π² Menudo (Weekend Special) β Spicy tripe soup, served steaming hot. The staff asks (in charmingly broken English) if you want trotters added β of course yes! Rich, collagen-packed, and deeply comforting. π· Carnitas (By the Pound) β Choose your preferred cuts (except intestines, I think). Served with warm corn tortillas, fresh salsas, onion, and cilantro β build your own tacos. π₯ Corundas (Mexican Tamales) β Cheese or cheese+spinach fillings, topped with sour cream, cheese, and hot sauce β hearty and satisfying. They also hand out crispy pork rinds while you wait β a nice touch. π Two locations: I went to the 55th St spot β bigger, cleaner, good for dining in.
