Weekend Notes from North America: Dallas Food Recommendations

šŸ„žLast weekend, I visited Dallas. It felt like I had transitioned from Austin, which is relatively lacking in food options, to Dallas, which has a plethora of choices. I visited four different restaurants, all of which were quite good. šŸ§‡The ramen shop was randomly chosen near the hotel and was pretty average, so I won't recommend it. Barcelona A chain of Spanish tapas bars with a wide variety of dishes. Each portion is small, making it perfect for gatherings with friends who want to try a variety of dishes. šŸ’›Sushi Sake This is a Japanese restaurant I visit almost every time I’m in Dallas. Both the owner and the sushi chef are Japanese, and the place retains a very traditional, family-style Japanese management approach. Reservations aren’t possible; instead, you have to line up at the entrance at 5:30 p.m. sharp if you want a table. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and there’s a wide variety of both cooked and raw dishes. I particularly love their uni and sweet shrimp, which are hard to find at the same quality elsewhere without paying a premium. Sushi lovers should definitely give this place a try. āļøMaht Gaek A well-known Korean restaurant in the Dallas area. Their signature dishes are the beef bone broth and roasted pork ribs. On the day I visited, it was raining, and nothing beats a warm bowl of oxtail soup to warm you up. #Dallas #DallasRestaurants #DallasFood #SushiSake #LifeChronicles
