What a great local place. Bistro attached to its own butcher.
My partner had the grilled chicken, he said it was amazing. Unlike most fries in this country (don’t get me wrong, I enjoy McDonald’s-like fries), this place does natural cut with skin on.
I had the Spanish tortilla (omelette with potatoes and onions)… it was so good!! I would know, as I’ve attempted to make it on my own at least 7 times unsuccessfully - I even bought a special pan, but no luck lol. It was perfectly creamy throughout, while the potatoes perfect - they weren’t underdone or overdone/mushy. I also had the morcilla, which was decent, but not the best I’ve ever had.
I only wish we had more time to go again, because with it being attached to its own butcher, I bet the steaks are amazing.
With a glass of wine and a beer, it came out to like ARS40k. Solid without being pretentious....
Read moreI have changed my review from 2 stars to 4 stars, since learning that the cubierto charge is quite common in most restaurants in Argentina and Uruguay. My wife and I shared a fairly expensive meal: steak, salad, and a bottle of water (about 33000 pesos). The waiter brought out bread and an aioli-style dip to our table, something we’ve experienced at other local parrillas now.
When I received the check, I noticed an additional charge of 3600 pesos for the bread. This unexpected cost left a bad impression, especially since we weren’t informed about it beforehand, thinking the bread was complimentary-- it is not.
The food was very good—the steak was perfectly cooked, seasoned beautifully, and the portion size was generous. However, at 33000 pesos for just a side salad, steak, and water, but I was surprised by the extra charge...
Read moreI don't give usually 5 stars across the board ever...but I was literally trying to think of one negative thing about this place and I am unable to. This is the best restaurant in Buenos Aires.
The open-air atmosphere is charming and allows solo diners to eat at the bar, which is contrary to most restaurants in BA, but the manager, John, lived in New York briefly, and he knows how lone diners like to eat at a bar versus a table. He and his staff are amazing. Incredibly welcoming and friendly.
The food....OMG. The bondiola, lomo, empanadas, sandwiches, potatoes....everything is delicious and always prepared/cooked perfectly. Reasonably, priced and never had a bad meal. Been 4 times and will be back...
