El Obrero is a classic in Buenos Aires. Not far from La Bombonera, on Barrio de La Boca, it's a gem in this neighbourhood. It's true that it is easy to find great restaurants and amazing meat in Buenos Aires, but El Obrero is a highlight on the city. When we visited it, it was only opened for dinners. You will probably read a lot about how dangerous it can be this south part of the city, but we truly had no problems. We walked there, from the stadium, and we left by bus. You can also take a taxi, and it should be no problem. Of course, regular caution should be taken. Inside, the environment is great and football scarves and jerseys are the regular decoration. Read moreDuring my visit to Buenos Aires in 2019, I had the pleasure of dining at El Obrero, a charming and rustic restaurant tucked away in the heart of La Boca. From the moment I stepped in, I was enveloped in a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. What truly set my experience apart was the incredible hospitality of the staff. When they learned that I was visiting from Calcutta, their excitement was palpable. They went out of their way to make me feel special, sharing stories and even offering recommendations for places to visit in Buenos Aires. Their genuine warmth and friendliness added an extra layer of joy to my dining experience. El Obrero is not just a restaurant; it's a place where you can feel the heart and soul of...

One of my fave restaurants in BA, Pablo and Juan Carlos are friends by now, they are brothers and are the owners, together with their sister, they inherited this restaurant from their parents, who opened it a long time ago to feed the workers of the nearby port and warehouses. It is still attended by them, the owners. Jorge, the best griller in BA, is there since the opening day, over 45 years ago. Can't miss it! Better for lunch, take taxis, for security, to get there from La Boca's caminito regardless of the short distance. If you go by night make sure to get a car to take you to the...
