Mixed feelings.
Food: some great, some bad
Escabeche de hongos : 7/10 good quality Buñuelos de acelga: 9/10 flavorful, perfe tly cooked, soft Fainazetta: 3/10 dry, bitter, unbalanced Croquetas de arvejas y queso ahumado: 9/10 similar to the Buñuelos de acelga.
Drinks: not a fan of vermouth overall, which is their strength. That said, I asked for some cocktails with vermouth. Mixed feelings, again
Negroni: very good 8/10 La perla del Atlántico (La Fuerza Rojo, Gin Casa Rosa Doble Enebro, almíbar de frutos rojos, limón, soda) : watery, not particularly flavorful 5/10
Atmosphere: trendy, interesting atmosphere. Nice place. We ate inside, which I recommend over the option of staying outside (where chairs and tables are small and uncomfortable)
Service: the host was very welcoming, helpful and kind. The waitress was OK, but a little smile would help a lot. She was clearly not happy of working there.
Price: Not cheap, at all. Cocktails are particularly expensive relatively.
Conclusion: Some great things, some mediocre, some straight bad. I will probably not gonna be...
Read moreI've been to this place a million times because I live very close. Sadly on my last visit I was food poisoned. I went with a friend, we had omelette and vegetable fritters, we had vermouth. We both got poisoned. My poisoning was severe and I spent 5 days in bed. I lost 7 kg and had to cancel a trip abroad. My friend suffered slightly less than I did, perhaps because she ate less. According to my doctor in La Fuerza they gave us something to eat in a terrible state. Since I was a client of the place and I also walked by all the time, I knew many of those who worked. One day I mentioned what happened to one of the managers (a bald, short boy with a beard) and at least he apologized and was obviously embarrassed. It would have been nice if he had at least offered me to refund the amount I paid for that meal, which he did not do. This happened a long time ago, before the pandemic and I am only publishing...
Read moreCan’t rate the food because we came here after dinner, but what I saw coming out of the kitchen looked good. This was a great post-dinner drink spot for us. Lots of vermouth cocktails to select from, with vermouth that they make themselves. There are three types: rojo (more bitter), blanco (more sweet) and primavera (in the middle). The drinks were well-balanced and the atmosphere is festive and fun thanks to the colorful artwork and design details. I enjoyed the vermu la fuerza (rojo vermouth and soda) and the Caipi de Verano (blanco vermouth with vodka, mint, and lime). Bar service was not very proactively attentive but we had no problem flagging the bartender when we were ready for another round. Five stars for quality of the drinks, three stars for service, five stars for atmosphere. Also, if you love merch, you’ll likely want to...
