Martineta Bar — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

Wow! I walked by this place twice a day for four days in a row. Then, earlier today I had a recommendation, from my hotel, to try it. So, I did, and was I pleasantly surprised. It is a warm cozy setting with a cool vibe. Great music and a warm and friendly owner/host, named Natalia, who is also bartender and waitress; most importantly she is just a wonderful caring professional.

The food and drinks are plentiful and all reasonably priced. I had a wonderful Rib Eye grilled steak with fried potatoes and a generous and super-fresh salad. The three different chimichurri sauces, served with the warm bread - is so tasty. The house wine was a excellent Malbec that was quite delicious.

I’m now very upset with myself for not trying this place earlier in my trip, as I would have definitely come again.

It was our first night in Buenos Aires. We were looking for tapas. We found AWSOME restaurant just 1/2 block from our hotel. We went in at 4:40pm looking for some tapas. We found a group of local young people having a drink. I told g them it was my partners birthday and they responded with joy. At that time, we were the only folks in the bar with 6 locals. They were amazing and we enjoyed their company. Then, we ordered the food and wine as you would expect, the wine was an awesome Malbec. The food was to die for. Dec 27 2021: Ordered eggplant, beef, fried calamari. All are very tasty! The owner mentioned the restaurant was just open since Dec 6, 21. The owner and staffs were very attentive.

Dec 28 2021: went back again since the experience was great last night. Ordered tongue, stomach of cow, and fried calamari again! The owner speaks good English so no concern if you don't understand Spanish.
