La Chacrita de Nimez — Restaurant in El Calafate

Nice environment with great view of the lake. Food and service was ok.

Empanada was quite bad on general terms, pastry was all soggy.

Cazuela de cordero (lamb stew) was alright, very Argentinian: only condiment is salt so it kind of all taste the same.

Hamburger was a flat disk of beef similar to a thin frisbee, no way to ask for a medium done one.

House wine (by glass) was terrible. Just get a bottle of a good wine instead, even if you are to just drink a glass.

Dessert options are very limited.

Staff was nice, yet... Problem was at payment time:

1- They offered discount when paying cash, this is illegal. 2- I had to ask 3 times for a legal receipt. At the end and with very bad attitude they provided with a B...

I came here hungry when many other places were not open for an early lunch. Of the places open, La Chacrita had guanaco ravioli on the menu, which I was curious about. The meat was flavorful as was the sauce— very bold, very tasty. One of my favorite meals in El Calafate! It is a bit off of the beaten path and main road, but if you are able to make it over here, I would highly recommend! It is very close to the bird reservation, so doing the two together would make for a good set...

Myself and my fiance had dinner and the whole experience was great. They have a big variety of food, the service and view are amazing. They had great music playing which created a good ambiance. They have vegetarian options like the tortilla de patatas (if you say you want it prepared without any meat) and they will do it for you (fresh food).
