The most incredible experience paired with delicious food we had in Argentina. Seriously if Michelin is reading, get ready to give Miguel a star! The menu is a set course with an appetitive and wine pairing, all dishes you can repeat as much as you like, so come hungry. Expect to spend the whole night and make friends in the shared tables. We were here from 7:30 to 11 pm. Extremely kids friendly, in fact my oldest became instant friends with Pedro, oldest of Miguel’s sons that helps with the service and they spent the night on the fire pit. The Vermut aperitif was so delicious I had to have it twice. The food was something else. 😋 We had Choripan and Empanadas for entrees. They were a bit late because we were surprised by unforcasted, rare rain in El Calafate, but the wait just made them more delicious. The sausages in the choripan was tasty and crunchy. The Queso y Hongos empanada are to die for, seriously the best empanadas I have ever had. Imagine a cheesy cloud with great dough with just the right smokiness from baking in the wood woven, paired with soft and flavorful mushrooms. 🤤 The roasted lamb rib was something else. The best I had in Patagonia and trust me, I had a lot of lamb! Even my wife, who doesn’t like lamb, commented on how sweet and light it tasted with just the right mixture of flavors from the chimichuri and with melting fat and crunchy skin, complemented with the potatoes and carrots with a great vinagrete. It paired wonderfully with the red wine, of which I was surprised it was all you can drink! The atmosphere is very rustic and Miguel treats you like family and lets you join the experience, I even served our friends in the share table our second bottle of wine 🥰. If you’re looking for something unique, truly different from all the touristy options in Av. dos Libertadores, ping Miguel on whatsapp to make a reservation (we got it for the next day) and have a wonderful,...
Read moreThis was the best meal I’ve ever had. You simply cannot miss this opportunity when in El Calafate. Miguel truly welcomed us as part of his family and was so hospitable. The atmosphere was incredible with many people from many cultures. It would be hard to leave here without a new friend. We were able to make a reservation for two on WhatsApp the day before we wanted to go with ease. The food was beyond incredible! Each course is so well done and planned. If I could take Miguel’s empanada’s home with me, I would take many suitcases full. We were unsure how to dress, but truly anything is fine. Miguel suggests to wear what is comfortable, as you would do when going to have a meal with a good friend at their home. I believe that in the summer every effort is made to be outside and we enjoyed conversation with our table mates after dessert until 11:00pm, so keep that in mind with regard to temperature and wind. I hope to come back someday for another meal with Miguel and I will be thinking about this experience every day until then. Simply put, go to Lucinda Casa Campo. I cannot speak highly enough about it and you...
Read moreWhat an amazing dining experience, and can’t say enough of how awesome it was to see Miguel cook in his backyard and serve his delicious plates at his house! I’m visiting El Calafate and was searching for a cooking class that was more personal, authentic and unique. Spending the evening with Miguel and his family ticked all those boxes! I was greeted with fresh juice upon my arrival, and we started the evening cooking in his backyard where he has an outdoor grill and oven, before sitting inside of his house to dine. Overall, it was a fantastic night of tasty dishes from the starter dish of bone marrow to dessert, which was a caramelized squash served with queso crema and peanut topping. This was all paired with glasses of wine and fun conversation! If you’re in town and looking for a unique culinary Argentinian experience or need a break from the tourist part of town, definitely join Miguel for dinner! I promise it will be a memorable evening of great food and even better people....
