La Cantina Piadineria & Beer House — Restaurant in El Calafate

Had contact with four different waiters. All were very friendly, smiling and attentive.

When I did not know which beer to choose, the waiter brought me four small different ones to try. Had a burger with roasted potatoes. Homemade burger bun, mayonaise and the beef patty was medium cooked and juicy. Good food and good beer!

I have been told that the view of the sunset is amazing here.

In the bathroom they have a note encouraging customers to let them know if it needs to be cleaned. Nice to know they care.

This restauruant was one of the best on our trip. We had the Lisa Simpson burger and the italien bread in vegetarian. The vegetarian burger patty was a bit dry, but the rest was really tasty. At dessert we hat almond and El Calafate ice cream. Both was served with dulce de leche. It was insanely good.

The service was really nice. They tried their best to speak english and learn new words as well. Outside they made a fire to sit around.

The place is really cozy and you've got a view to the lake and in the evening to the sunset.

I was staying at the Hotel Caquenes de Nimez at the lake. It was about 1 KM to town (really very nice there) but I was here for 5 days. Found La Cantina just around the corner and it IS GREAT! The staff is very friendly, they have music some evenings, LOTS of beers from all over as well as a wonderful assortment of gins and wines. The food is all fresh prepared from empanadas to steak to hamburgers to salads to pizzas. It all can't be beat at very reasonable prices. I wound up eating 2 meals a day there for several days. ...
