First of all, kudos to Camila, our waitress, she rocked. Now, let's talk turkey, or in this case, fish minus the chips. The place is really a little hidden gem. It's tucked away, way out in the middle of the coast, with seeping views, and breath taking sunsets. We went for the second nightly shift, at 8PM, but snuck in a bit early just to catch the "magic hour." Worth it. Now, let's talk peculiars: You're offered a rather neat service from the get-go. Even given a pro-bono, free, complimentary drink as soon as you "check-in." The place fills up fast. It's spacious, but heavily trafficked, so make a reservation online. There's a massive list of cocktails -- from classic to signature. A bit on the expensive side, but considering the prices in Palermo - in places with half the panache - you're willing to splurge. Beer --- I'm someone who loves to worship under the altar of Hops --- and I was fairly disappointed with their selection. That being two, A Patagonia Amber and a Corona. That's it. The meal itself --- well, there's a bit for everyone. It's not a Chinese level menu - as in huge with too many options - but a well rounded menu nonetheless. With dishes that rage all culinary and budgetary options. Fish? Check! Pasta? Check! Meats? Check! Salads? Check! Antipastos? More or less check! Price point --- I went with my wife, we ended up having 4 beers, to appetizers, and two main courses, and it costs us - on January 2023 - less than 8k. It really all depends on what you're going to order off the menu. A salad, or a nifty pasta meal, won't punch your wallet. Each coast between 1.200 and 1.700 --- Nowadays, that's what a hamburger at McDonalds' might end up setting you back. Sure there are dishes like the Wagyu, "something or another," with a price tag of 6K but most dishes are well priced. And considering the atmosphere, I'm going to be honest, you're getting them cheap.
The only caveat is that, at least my pasta, was too salty. Too many black olives, too much marine salt, mixed in with the natural tang of this fish filling of the Capeletis or...
Read moreThis restaurant itself is beautiful. The food and service, skip. Drinks arrived late and wrong to the table. Menu wouldn’t open on their app in English on anyone’s phone and they didn’t have a back up paper copy. So the manager did his best to go through the menu and explain. but very time consuming. The sushi? Please have your chefs learn how to properly pack a roll and shashimi. Loose, fell apart. No flavor. Had better from a grocery store. Not everything ordered was brought out. Fish was dry. Something gritty was in my mushroom risotto. Shouldn’t crunch-like you bit into sand. My wine didn’t come until the end of dinner. We didn’t even stay for desert. As far as the service? Never had to flag a waitress down as much as we did at this restaurant. She didn’t even refill our water glasses or offer, which is a basic service. We’ve dined at 2 star Michelin rated Aramburu Relais & Châteaux down to the basics at a neighborhood bar and had incredible food everywhere in BA. Skip going to Garibaldi and stop at...
Read moreWithout a doubt the most romantic and probably the overall best restaurant we've been to in Buenos Aires. The food is good to very good, it will not be a disappointment, but it is not "the star of the show". What makes this place unforgettable is first of all its ambience and location: it is like a magic carper flying on the Rio de la Plata river. Then there is an absolutely impeccable service, a great wine list and really, really good cocktails (I had a fantastic penicillin and the espresso Martini was also really good). To top it of, while considered expensive in Argentina, it is absolutely a bargain (especially for all that it offers and delivers) price-wise compared to any European or North American restaurant. We had a wonderful dinner with two appetizers, two mains, two cocktails and a bottle of wine for less than 30 USD equivalent per person. Highly highly recommended, especially for dinner for a truly unforgettable night. Bonus points also for the terrace where you can smoke in comfort if...
