Tío Curzio — Restaurant in Mar del Plata

I’m giving 2 stars, 1 for the view and 1 for the only server that came to us to apologized for the bad service we were having so far. Let’s start from the beginning: it were a sign on the front of the reception saying we have to wait to be seated so we did. After almost 10 min, considering we had people behind us waiting too, the staff were just trying to avoid all of us, so everybody start to took a seat by themselves. During lunch nobody would come to see if we were missing something at the table, even when you called their attention it took a lot to assist you, the waiters spent more time talking to each other than attending the tables. We ate a salad (it was ok) and fried calamari, but this last plate had to much oil on it...

When I gave the first look to the menu I thought ‘man, this is really expensive’. Then when I saw the five stars service we got I realize it was worth to pay the high prices. I think I was also lucky that the place was almost empty. I don’t know how it would’ve in a crowded day of January when mdq is most packed of people. One thing, after we payed in cash we realize that we had a credit card with discounts for the place. La recepción de la mujer en el ingreso fué muy buena y con mucha predisposición y por eso la única estrella. Una vez dentro, la ambientación era agradable, pero la atención de la moza muy insulsa, y a pesar de solo haber 4 mesas ocupadas, solo se comunicó con nosotros para tomarnos el pedido y al levantar los restos no preocupándose por si precisabamos algo durante el tiempo que estuvimos ahí como hace cualquier otro lugar gastronómico. Los platos bastante básicos y carentes de sabores teniendo en cuenta el exorbitante precio. Yo pedí ñoquis con salsa mixta (nada elaborado) y mi pareja una ensalada César bastante abundante pero pasada de salsa Caesar (gustos personales); los ñoquis estaban en buen punto, aunque la salsa (que se cobra a parte y bien cobrada) no tenía sabor a nada, percibiendo una salsa de tomate comercial colocada directamente del recipiente. Tuvimos que pedirles aderezos para alinear la ensalada y trajeron aceite y vinagre en dos recipientes de vidrio estilo manicero sin un utensilio para colocarlos, por lo que cansados de pedirles todo, lo solucionamos como pudimos. Al final terminamos pagando un alto precio por algo que no valía ni la mitad, además de pagar los cubiertos. El lugar es cómodo y agradable, aunque la experiencia en cuanto a lo gastronómico no es para nada recomendable en relación a la calidad, precio y presentación de los platos.
