Walking into this café, one might expect a cozy retreat from the bustling streets. Instead, I found myself in an nearly empty space, waiting a full 15 minutes for a Frappuccino—despite being nearly the only guest. When it finally arrived, it was unceremoniously dropped onto my table without so much as a glance or a smile. No straw either, because apparently, I'm meant to spoon my Frappuccino like soup.

The much-advertised “menú del día” (12-15h) seemed more like a suggestion than a reality. At 13:20, the staff still had no idea what the bowl of the day was. After some back and forth, I was told there were only sandwiches, though I could order a bowl separately—just not as part of the menu deal. My polite request for clarification was met with raised voices, reinforcing the café’s commitment to customer confusion. English? Not spoken here.

Determined to salvage the experience, I ordered a mung bean bowl. What arrived instead? Black beans. No explanation, no apology—just a silent swap. When questioned, the server disappeared into the kitchen, returning with a blunt: "We don’t have mung beans."

To top it all off, any hopes of a tranquil atmosphere were drowned out by construction noise and the distinct aroma of industrial tools. A "peaceful oasis"? Far from it.

We went to Brod bakery in order to enjoy a good cup of coffee and brunch whilst staying in Mendoza. The place was cute, the coffee and food was okay. It certainly wasn't cheap but we didn't expect it to be. We ordered some poached eggs and one of them had clearly burst in the boiling water meaning there was no yoke left, it was white and overcooked. When we kindly asked for another one to the waitress. another woman returned with, our now cold meal and argued with us... She argued with us over a single egg! I have worked in many cafes and restaurants before and have never seen such thing happen before. To be fair, it was Sunday and the place was empty, now I understand why. They might have good bread and pastries in there but they also have an extremely unprofessional attitude. Genuinely the only well priced, non tourist restaurant in Mendoza. The food is excellent and seriously fresh. My husband had eggs on toast the first time which were perfectly poached, following day the chicken sandwich which was huge and really delicious. I had the watermelon, avocado etc salad which was so fresh and good on a hot day, following day the potato rosti with kale. You choose which freshly baked load of bread you want with your sandwich and we got some of their still warm pastries for take away for breakfast the following day.
