"Gyumri" Hatsatun — Restaurant in Gyumri

The seating options are good. We didn't wait to seat. The food was good: loved both the lamadjo, the kebabs in lavash, the fresh salads. It has reduced salt and spice, which meets my taste just right, but it is not exactly the way these dishes are prepared traditionally - ask, if you want it like locals. The waiters were nice and quick. The prices are very affordable.

What was not good: the speed of service, because the place is understaffed for its size. There were only 3 waiters for approximately 20 big tables located inside and at the outside terrace. When we arrived, the place was half empty, but the waiters were already under high load. And then a big group of about 25 people arrived, so the stuff was absolutely overwhelmed.

The mengrel hachapuri was good, but not exactly right to my taste - something strange with cheese, it felt the lower saltiness and oiliness, compared to...

The restaurant itself was nice, the staff were pleasant, and it was quite busy while we were there (including a lot of locals).

Unfortunately many of the dishes did not taste good and I am pretty sure something here gave me explosive diarrhea (obviously can't be 100% certain it was this restaurant but think it is likely).

Here is what we ordered:

Overall I think this place is probably okay as long as you stick to the popular dishes like...

Food was ok. Caucasian plate was big and full of various tastes. Tolma was alright, trout too. Service was more that unwelcome. They have English menu, but they cared to bring it 10 min after our arrival. When we entered the restaurant and waited to be sitted (though it seems to be unnecessary in Armenia), 3 waiters were standing, staring at the floor and didn't even respond to ,,hello".

AND CHECK THE BILL WHILE PAYING!!! We had there one additional item, which we didn't buy. And they charge you 10% of service (dishes weren't even brought at one time, 4 of us received their dishes in 5...
