Visited today and was truly impressed by the quality of the food—it was absolutely delicious! However, despite the great food, I am giving only 1 star due to the unprofessional and unwelcoming behavior of the manager.
From the moment we entered, the manager did not greet us with a simple “hello” or “welcome.” Instead, she immediately instructed us to sit at a table in a rather dismissive manner. There was no warmth or hospitality, which set a negative tone for the entire experience.
When she came to take our order, her attitude felt completely indifferent, making me wonder if I was there to give them business or ask for a free meal. I ordered the roti platter and requested to swap the cheese naan for butter roti. A very polite and helpful staff member had already assured me that this change was possible. However, when I informed the manager, she was unhappy and resistant to making this simple substitution. This was confusing, as cheese naan is more expensive than butter roti. After some back-and-forth discussion, she reluctantly agreed—but not without an argument.
What shocked me the most was her behavior towards the staff. After our conversation, she went straight to the kitchen and started yelling at the staff member who had originally approved the change. She knew we could see and hear her, yet she continued to scold her publicly, which was highly unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness.
At the end of the meal, I approached her to express my disappointment regarding her attitude. Unfortunately, she showed no interest in acknowledging or addressing my concerns.
Despite the amazing food, I am giving a 1-star rating because good food alone does not make a great dining experience. Hospitality, respect, and professionalism are just as important. The owner needs to seriously reconsider who is managing this place, as this manager’s behavior is damaging the restaurant’s reputation.
I truly hope the management takes this feedback...
Read moreIn your daily convos, there are Cliched terms like 100% perfect or cheap and best..But sometimes these terms come alive and thats what Bollywood Bites was about- Its a great culinary experience provided by the humble staff. Gurpreet was the lady who chatted us up and we were more than happy to talk to a genuine person than a pretentious one. She even takes the bullet if needed as some clients may get irate as is the business.
Thankfully, from Gurpeet to Ayush and the chef, the foodgasm was exhilarating. As entrees, we ordered Yoghurt/Curry bombs which may be something known to you but with a twist(will keep it spoiler free) and the Haryali kebab was just perfect, even presented very well. Coming to the main course, the Malai Kofta and Chicken Saag were excellent blend of spices, keeping in mind our request for medium spice levels. The Cheese garlic Naans were scrumptious. The kid enjoyed the Lassi which was a tall glass and heavy to his delight. Last but not the least, had an Indian Beer which was the cherry on the top.
The ambience is what first drove us there from Adelaide. Bollywood Bites has a bolly theme and the tables and walls would adorn those features - There is a little waterfall cascade table which is a delight to see.
Overall, a great time spent with great food, a wonderful experience in today's times is all we need. Thank you team,...
Read moreOrdered from here for the first time today and very impressed comes to mind! Lovely place, although we bought takeaway, I'm excited to dine in next visit as I loved the look and the music. The service was top notch....very welcoming and professional. They even changed the meat in a dish we ordered as the one they used didn't appeal to us. There was nothing wrong with it, just not a meat that we normally eat. The butter chicken was one of the best we have ever had, with the chicken melting in our mouth and the flavour superb. The navatran korma also delicious, as was the cumin rice. Even the pappadams were fresh and crisp. Also tried an Indian beer (godfather) very nice! Prices were around normal price for Indian food and there is a wide selection of food on the menu. Thankyou Bollywood Bites for an all round great experience. Look forward to next time 😀 so next time came and sadly this time I was dissapointed.....not with the flavour, that was superb. I asked for mild but when I got home and started to eat....oh boy! It was so spicy that I could not finish my meal. With watery eyes, runny nose and burning mouth and throat I had to bin my meal :(...
