Nice spot at the conner on Anzac Highway and just minutes away from the Adelaide CBD. Based my experience this is ons of the best Indian restaurant i have tried. The food is the star. The flavours are authentic, tasty and so balanced. Butter chicken and the Persian Lamb were just amazing. All the naan were so nice and freshly done. The foods tasted so fresh and beautifully done. I really liked the decor which matches the theme of the restaurant. The staff were nice and professional. Some points and suggestions to improve the experience: the waiting time was too long and the service was a bit slow. You could tell because of staff shortage. More importantly, the reception area was too noisy ( loud phone rings for long time and loud notification noises?) which were so distracting for the lovely ambiance. I will definitely visit this place more to try other dishes at this favourite Indian place. Well done to the team.

It was delicious. That’s how i will begin here because despite the look of this place you are really uncertain about how the taste will be of the food served here. But trust me I would spend another round to get a good meal to bite here. So not much of to right expect the food I personally really loved it. Especially with the “vandaloo chicken” that now has a different space in my life. Thank you again and compliments to the chef. Taste - Awesome 🤩 Value for money - in your budget 😉 Ambience - its quite dark but manageable People - friendly with a fast service at least that i was able to get and also to look around😇

Dinner at @britishindiasa - almost next door to us! Modern Indian food and not quite traditional, but the food is good ☺️☺️☺️. Really friendly service too! . Broken samosa: apparently one of their most popular dishes. Very interesting presentation, and tasted great! I loved puffed rice was delicious 🤤😍. . Royal chilli squid: again, not exactly a traditional Indian dish, but it tasted great 😜😜. . Curry dishes and naan: nicely done overall! And the naans were delicious 🤤🤤. - Tumeric goan prawn: yummy prawns!! - Madras duck - Garlic naan - Cheese and chilli naan . Mango lassi: of course I love this drink 😍😍.

Walked in with my husband and our two smaller children at 5.40pm on a Sunday as we hadn’t been before so we thought we would love to give it a try. There was One table of people inside. Waited at the door for a few minutes before walking forward a little. Saw a man at a computer. We patiently waited. He finally turned around and said “do you have a booking?” We replied, “no sorry we don’t” he said “well I am fully booked”. Looking around at an 95% empty restaurant we were a little confused but said “ok” then he said “should I book you in?” I said “sorry, I’m confused I thought you said you are fully booked?” He said “I can book you in if you wait five minutes” I said “ok, but If you are booked we can come another time” then he said “if you can’t be patient whilst I serve those who have booked I am the only one here!!” and I said “we have been extremely patient and were happy to wait” we walked out as he mouthed off to the customers that we aren’t patient etc We were very happy to wait. Unsure why to say they were fully booked up, then want us to wait and stay?? He was rude and inefficient We went to another lovely Nepalese restaurant instead and loved spending our $200 there

*AND in response to the Man’s rude response to my honest experience. His unapologetic behaviour and reply of lies. there was ONE table of 2 ladies and they would of heard us come in 5minutes earlier and wait for you. And you lie again as we were VERY happy to wait! I don’t know why you were so unhappy and barking at us that we NEEDED to make a booking when we explained that we totally understood this and had just stopped to try our luck. No expectations. Weren’t unhappy you were full. Just confused why you said full but still wanted to make a point to “book us in” it just didn’t make sense. But to continue your rabble as we walked out was ridiculous. Not sure what part of “we are happy to wait, but if you are full we can come another time” you don’t understand or find impatient and rude???? And in truth as we walked out our 7 & 8year olds asked what was wrong with you and why you were being...

British India is by far, the best Indian cuisine I have ever had in my life (and I've eaten a lot of Indian)! I've had a few meals from them, and enjoyed them so much that I told my parents about them. They were so keen to try it out that they ordered a take-away feast for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. The British India team member that I had talked to knew it was a bit of a hike to my parents from their restaurant, so he gifted us with hot-bags to ensure our food stayed warm. Not only that, but he handed over a complimentary champagne as a congratulations present for my parents (whom he had never met!). How generous! My parents were so delighted! The feast was AMAZING. Everyone went back for seconds and thirds. They all commented on how fresh and vibrant the flavours were. The sauces were rich in flavour and generous in portion size. There was more than enough for everyone to enjoy. The best bit is that the next day I feel great. Prior to discovering British India, I always had an issue with the large amounts of ghee and oils used by a few of the restaurants I had frequented. However, this has never been the case with anything I've ever eaten from British India. It's always light, easy to digest and all I'm left with are delicious memories. THANK YOU BRITISH INDIA for your feast of flavours, your professionalism, your friendliness and your incredible generosity. You are...

I have never walked out of a restaurant before but I did so tonight. My husband and I had a 7.30pm booking. We arrived on time and were ignored at the door. When finally seated, the waitress gave us the food and drink menus and got us a bottle of water. We asked for one of the cocktails featured on the drinks menu. The waitress started to write down our order but then hesitated, saying the chef had told her no cocktails were available this evening. We asked why not. She said she’d check if cocktails were actually available. We waited over 15 minutes. She did not return. When we were on our way out the ‘manager’ was very unpleasant and offered no apology, simply saying they were short staffed, running about and not standing still. A clear and direct apology upon arrival for being short staffed would have made us more understanding of slow service. A pity, as the menu looked promising. We won’t be going back.

I see I got a reply from the owner. Clearly doesn’t understand or know about service recovery. Arguing with a customer face to face and then online is not how to...
