Little Canton Chinese Restaurant has set a new benchmark for excellence, with its sophisticated ambiance, impeccable service, and most importantly, dishes that are both innovative and authentic.
Upon entering, guests are enveloped in a luxurious atmosphere, characterized by an abundance of natural light and expansive spaces that exude comfort and refinement. The beautiful music playing in the background adds a touch of elegance, perfectly complementing the high-class atmosphere that pervades every aspect of the restaurant.
The service, led by the indefatigable Rebecca, is exemplary. Her attentiveness, warmth, and proficiency in English ensure a seamless dining experience, as she expertly guides patrons through the menu and offers insightful recommendations.
The culinary highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Hong Kong Cheong Fun, which was presented with a level of sophistication that rivaled the finest establishments in the region. The Prawn Cheong Fun was a standout, featuring succulent King prawns that added a delightful sweetness to the dish. Similarly, the Barbecue Pork Cheong Fun was a masterclass in texture and flavor, with tender pork and an abundance of complementary ingredients that elevated the dish to new heights.
Other notable mentions include the Chicken Feet, which were cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior giving way to tender, flavorful meat. The attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of each dish is evident, and the kitchen's commitment to using only the freshest ingredients is palpable.
The dessert menu is equally impressive, with a diverse range of options that cater to various tastes and preferences. The Durian Puffs are a unique offering that will undoubtedly appeal to adventurous palates, while the extensive menu book provides a wealth of additional options for those seeking something beyond the standard offerings.
But what truly sets Little Canton apart is its family-friendly atmosphere. The kids will be mesmerized by not one, but two stunning aquariums featuring larger-than-life fish that will leave them (and you!) in awe. It's clear that the restaurant has thoughtfully designed its space to cater to families, making it an ideal destination for a night out with the little ones.
In terms of amenities, the restaurant's facilities are immaculate, with spotless and high-tech toilets that add a touch of modern luxury to the dining experience.
In conclusion, Little Canton Chinese Restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in Adelaide. With its luxurious ambiance, beautiful music, high-class atmosphere, outstanding service, innovative cuisine, and family-friendly features, this restaurant is poised to become a leader in the city's culinary scene. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to impress their guests or simply indulge in a memorable meal.

Read moreThe food was okay. The customer service/staff attitude was bad.
I placed an order on Uber Eats. I ticked the “request utensils” option when placing the order.
Because of a past experience of an Uber Easts restaurant forgetting to provide utensils, I was extra careful this time. This time, I tried to see if I could write a note to the restaurant to remind them to provide utensils, but there was no option for me to leave a note to them on the Uber Eats app. I tried to call them to remind them to provide utensils, but I couldn’t find their number on Google Maps or their website. When I later found their number on Safari, the delivery driver was already on their way to me.
I received the order, and there was no any utensil provided. I called the restaurant and requested them to deliver utensils to me. I repeated 4-5 times that I was unable to eat the food if they didn’t deliver utensils to me because there was no any utensil at the place that I was at, which was why I requested utensils when placing the order. However, they refused to deliver utensils to me. They asked me if I wanted a refund. I said I didn’t need a refund, and I just simply wanted to eat. They still refused to deliver utensils. They asked again if I wanted a refund. I said yes because I wasn’t able to eat the food since they failed to provide utensils and refused to deliver utensils. They told me to go through the refund process on Uber Eats. I said “So if I do that, you will not reject my refund request ?”. They replied “But the system shows that the order has been completed”. I eventually gave up and ended the call as they insisted to not do anything about their mistake and the inconvenience they inflicted on me.
I then had to ask the reception of the place I was at if they had any utensil I could use, and they didn’t. I had to ask the people around me if any of them had any utensil I could use, but none of them did. Fortunately, I was lucky that the receptionist at that place suggested me to go to a cafe nearby to ask for utensils, and the staff at that cafe was happy to give me utensils for free.
If I had not been lucky this time, I would not have been able to eat the food. I was not going to eat the food with my bare hands.
It is okay to make mistakes because they are only human, but what is unreasonable and unacceptable is that they refused to own up to their own mistake and refused to do anything to fix the problem that they inflicted on me because of their mistake. This behaviour and attitude are unacceptable not only in customer service. It’s unacceptable in general as a human being.
The other Uber Eats restaurant that previously forgot to provide utensils at least delivered utensils to me after I reported the...
Read moreTLDR: Not everyone's cup of tea. But if you're after an authentic Chinese style experience without breaking the bank. This is a must try.
Little canton offers a daring selection of no-holds-barred Chinese Yum Cha. With offerings such as chicken feet, ox tripe, duck's feet and other equally challenging ingredients along side the more sedate section of Yum Cha staples such as dim sums and salt and pepper squids. The offal based dishes are not for the weak of heart nor is the quick sharp service everyone's cup of proverbial tea. However, if you do manage to get past this, you will be delighted with a pretty authentic Asian Yum Cha experience located not far from the heart of Adelaide city.
The place speaks for itself when you realize that it is usually VERY crowded on weekends with the locals jostling for parking and waiting for their turn to be seated at the tables. There's a reason why it's so packed.
The head chef's commitment to authenticity means that the quality of food is what you'd expect if you were overseas, in a good restaurant no less. Stepping in here on a Sunday morning literally feels like you're in Hong Kong vying for a seat in the usually crowded restaurant. The waiters will be moving quite fast with their offerings and you'd make up your mind quick before the next table snatches the last mango pudding from right under your nose. First in best dressed I'm afraid and when it's out, it's out. Which really adds to the fun. It's diametrically opposite to most western dining experiences where the waiting staff is happy for you to take your time and explain the menu to you. But hey, that's Asian fast food for you.
There is no pricing on the dim sum menu (unfortunately), it merely represents how many portions of small, medium or large dim sums and one simply pays the multiple of the unit price on check out. I usually don't query how much each item is because it usually isn't too expensive and I'm a rather big eater. Each visit usually leaves me quite happy to come back for more.
The place also does lunch and dinner for those who'd like a less hurried experience. And their menu is equally inclusive, featuring things like Pig's Stomach Broth with Pepper and Preserved Vegetable. For those of us who grew up with dishes like these that Grandmother used to make (cos it was so much work and only she would do it), being able to order it here brings back warm memories, not to mention that it tastes fantastic.
Still, may not be everyone's cup of tea. But judging by the happy belly there, it certainly is...
