Always enjoy The Highway - it has a casual vibe and the staff are always friendly and happy to change what they can for dietary requirements. My friend and I usually sit in the bar or in the outside area - but decided to sit in the restaurant in this occasion as it was quieter . We were offered sparkling or still water as we sat down - and I decided to order a Boston Sour ( which is a whiskey sour with shaken egg white and Angostura bitters ) . They used a bourbon called Buffalo Trace , which had a lovely smoky flavour like a Southern BBQ- definitely recommend this if you like a good bourbon . My friend and I ordered the fried haloumi with lime aioli and za’atar ( which is a Middle Eastern herb/spice mix with toasted sesame seeds ) and served with a lemon wedge . The haloumi was lovely, fresh and crisp - you could hear the crunch when you bit into it . For mains we both had the King Henry pork cutlet with whipped feta, puréed spinach and lemon and oregano potatoes. The pork was well cooked and flavourful and I loved the whipped feta - it’s a pity that there wasn’t more of it as it paired really well with the potatoes. Wasn’t sure about the spinach purée , it was only a smear and there was no flavour , but that the only complaint that I had and I thought the bourbon cocktail was so good that it made up for any shortcomings . Staff were attentive and friendly and it was , as usual , a relaxing enjoyable place to sit back and have a meal .

We had a meal here lunchtime on a Wednesday , we managed to get a table, but I recommend booking as a lot of tables were reserved. Service is at the bar or you can use the code on you phone and they text you when it is ready. There are multiple places where you can sit with all different sort of seating from plastic chairs to cushion lounges. Service was quick and they cleaned away dirty dishes when you were finished. Toilets were clean and had 1 disabled toilet with bars, not sure if you would fit a large wheelchair in there though. There are ramps to all the different sections and space between the tables to get around. They have done a great job refurbishing the place. There was a very large screen in the beer garden to watch sport, with music playing in the background. The only fault was the music was very loud in the booth that we were sitting , as we want to talk... If you like my ratings please follow me.

I changed my rating from a 2 star to a 4 star. My previous rating was critical of the club type venue & how they enforce a dress code for guys, that stuff kinda annoys me.. understandable if i'm a bogan but I was refused entry in summer for having dressy shorts on once

But that was only one occasion & if I knew prior then it wouldn't have annoyed me in the same way.

Due to that initial moment I sat in the sport bar too, there is no dress code for the sport bar. The sport bar is alright for what it is, it's more like a pub feel to it.

They hold events for the superbowl when thats on, i've gone with friends a few years for that since I made this review & those days are always pretty fun, I don't even watch sport either lol

The restaurant I actually like, I have eaten there only 4 times but I've enjoyed my food every time & the serving sizes are good, the staff are just as you'd expect staff to be in a restaurant & I've honestly just had good experiences these few times I've eaten there.

I also sat on their pokies on two occasions, something I never do. First time was after one of those superbowl days & I put in $2 and won a bit over $20 & walked out, I don't gamble usually ever so I was fine to take that small win. Another time I put in $20 & before I even spent it I won something like $180 lol, so I took that & was happy with that too!

I was going to rate it 4 stars but I gave the food, service & atmosphere 5 stars.. so I feel like 5 stars is fair.

Oh yeah & there is parking available for the sober drivers, but the parking is taken up quick & half of the carpark is for the shopping centre behind the place too & they have an hour limit on those parks I from memory... It might have been 1.5, either way it's enough time if you're only going there for a meal from...

Where to begin, this is my go to pub i am here every sunday with my friends, yesterday happened to be the best sunday ever, good vibes it was super busy with decent music and atmosphere, the disappointment was security team( may. Be they came from agency when its busy) never seen them before 2 of them both asian background, we were having really good time and from no where one of the security confronted our table and asked me that i had shown him finger? No idea what he was talking about this is literally out of nowhere, and he was so rude and aggressive his supervisor was on his side i said to him why is he so rude he did not bother to answer, and after that incident i told him not to bother us and leave us alone, he did but he and his mate kept giving us weird look for nearly 1.5 hrs making us really uncomfortable and was trying to ruin our night, every time they walk through they keep staring asif we had done something wrong, at the end when we were about to leave he was waiting for us at the entrance i tried to avoid them but one of his team pushed me ( check the security footage) and i do have my friend behind me as a witness, we had heated conversation i called his supervisor wanting apology from his staff but never got one, and we were tired and the situation fizzled out, no one should be bullied please check your security team before you hire, we love this venue we will continue to come in future but please we want to enjoy...

The total redevelopment of "The Highway" must have cost $millions. It's simply brilliant and a credit to all concerned.

Great food, drinks and wine at reasonable prices, friendly, casual but polite staff.

The New beer garden is utterly fabulous, the best I've seen, worldwide

Sadly, this afternoon, a group of irresponsible yuppie parents allowed their brats to run amok all afternoon. I was waiting for friends to join me here for dinner. I've called them and we're now dining elsewhere. The beer garden MUST have a "Children are to be seated and in control of their parents at all times" policy.

I eventually spoke to the duty manager about the behavior of the feral children and their oblivious parents who were blatantly allowing their little darlings to run amok all afternoon in the beer garden, rather than making a mess in their, no doubt, mortgage to the eyeballs, designer hovels. She was an extremely polite young lady who explained that she had spoken to the children about their behaviour, but didn't believe that it was her place to speak to their parents!! How very odd!

She invited me to speak to the owner, saying that he was on the premises. I declined, saying that due to the appalling behavior in the beer garden, my friends and I had decided to have dinner elsewhere. I'd called them and made arrangements for the CBD. This was at 6.45pm, with toddlers, who should have been at home, bathed and fed, running about in an increasing...
