Fettle — Local services in Adelaide

Outrageous wait times despite being two of the four guests seated in the venue. Coffee and juice arrived about 25 minutes after placing our order. 30 minutes later (now almost an hour wait in an empty cafe) and there was still no sign of our entrees. When the entree did finally arrive, it became clear to me that disappointment was their special of the day. The staff were overwhelmed with surprise when I requested that all further courses be cancelled (if the entree was anything to go by I had seen more than enough) and that an immediate refund was required so I could leave and find somewhere else to eat. The coffee we were served was mediocre at best and the one sip of juice I took was spat back into the glass so as to avoid having to swallow something so rancid. Hugely disappointing for a venue that has such a hype surrounding it, perhaps somehow the entire staff were having an “off day” but it was more than enough for me to know that I never want to go back. Funny enough, it then took a further 15 minutes to organise the refund while the FOH and BOH staff bickered between one another over whose fault our poor...

The low down: a contemporary place with a good range of fusion food on menu. The food were all tasty but some could be better. It can be a bit pricey for a quick bite. The food we tried: 1) Aburi Salmon stick - nice, the sauce made the dish 2) Okonomiyake Pancake - very tasty but lack the little bit of crispness 3) Salt & Pepper squid - nice and crispy and comes with a dipping sauce 4) Pork belly - also very tasty with apple salad 5) Korean chicken - was very disappointed with this dish. Had no crunch you'd expect from a Korean chicken, and was baste with Sriracha? chilli sauce which made it too salty. Garnishing it with peanuts and chives didn't hide the failure of the dish. All things considered , I wouldn't mind coming back to try their other dishes 3.5 stars

Revisited recently for quick bite, and got to say it was a bit disappointing. ~$25 each for 3 small cubes of roast pork; and a small squid tube. Both with the same bean sprout salad garnish. The dishes was nice, but the salad felt cheap and unimaginative. And it definitely wasn't filling. The waitress also lacked friendliness. Won't be back...

I was served off milk with my coffee today. Although I know that this wouldn’t have been intentional and the girl was kind enough to replace it, however I have been sick all afternoon from the one sip I had of the off milk in my coffee. I understand that there can be some variables in food and coffee in hospitality but I’m really not sure how it is possible to serve off milk to a customer that clearly looked and smelt awful. Unfortunately, I wasn’t paying much attention and just took a sip of my coffee whilst chatting with my friends and didn’t realise it was off until it was in my mouth but this is something that the staff should be paying attention to when making coffees. It would have been nice if the coffee was taken off of our bill at the least but it wasn’t. Unfortunately I will not...
