This is not a single experience, it's over-arching feedback across the decade I've been buying pizza from Domino's Pasadena. In a nutshell: the pizzas are shrinking while the price is steadily increasing. Especially the toppings, with some reaching $5 each.
In my 30 years in Australia I've tasted them all. Pizza Haven was awesome; Eagle Boys ruined it. Pizza Hut still sucks after all this time. They own Eagle Boys so that's no surprise. All that's really left is Domino's and even that has been on a downward spiral.
Flavor-wise, it's always been great. But the ever-shrinking pizzas are not. I've heard plenty of excuses before, that it's "the same amount of dough just spread differently"...no. Like I said I know my pizzas. 5 years ago 1 Large Make-Your-Own Domino's could fill me up completely with 5 slices. Now, it'll take 1.5 large Make-Your-Own pizzas to fill me up to the point where I couldn't take another bite. Same toppings. My body is still the exact same size it's been for the past 15-20 years.
The thickness has also taken a major hit. Now, Deep Pan is almost as thin as the regular pan, and God forbid if you get any of the gimmick Garlic/Cheesy Crust. The main dough underneath is so thin, that it's disintegrating under the weight of the toppings and everything just falls apart. Gotta keep picking up the toppings from your plate.
Since we lost Pizza Haven, Australian pizza has been on an endless doward spiral and this doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon. Pizzaman and his babysitter...
Read moreI received a call from the rider that he was there so told him I'll catch up with him outside of my office, unknowingly he wasn't there.I had to call them as their rider clicked "delivered" even though it was not in my hands yet. So, apparently rider is in the wrong road/street even me checking triple times the address of the workplace where I was and even left a note to call me once they are outside the main door of the building. Took another 10mins for the rider to call me back, I had to go outside the main road to let him see me and had to instruct him to go back to his car coz he parked very far from the facility, I saw him from afar, working towards me with my orders (6 large pizzas, take note with 4 garlic breads and 2 drinks), so I told him that I reckon he needs to go back to his car so it would be easier for the both of us. He said there's no parking there, I said it is a big facility, you can park anywhere, so I calmly walked inside hoping he would park straight up to the front as I got a big order and yet he STILL parked at the end of the entrance of the facility, which is still far to the main entrance considering my BIG order. You should reorient your riders on how to properly follow directions and address, and read notes from the customer and never lie to the uber app that the item has been delivered....
Read moreOn 17 November I ordered two extra large pizzas. They came completely squished on each other. I rang up and I was told that they will put aside two pizzas for free of the order that I did unfortunately on 1 December I rang and I got that free order and when the person showed up with it it was two large pizzas which were 8 slices each Nothing that was what I actually Ordered which was the two extra large pizzas. I have a family of 8 and we had cut in all in half to share. I told the driver that I didn’t really want the pizzas but he said unfortunately he couldn’t take them back to the shop. Once again. My order was messed up. I rang them tonight which is 2 December and they told me that because they had already given me the free pizza which rightfully they should have because I bought it and originally received it all squished on each other, They couldn’t do anything else for me besides give me a free upgrade if I wanted to. How hard is it to work in a pizza shop and get a pizza order right? I paid an extra seven dollars to have the pizza upgraded and they have not kept their word. With giving me the right pizza that I actually paid for. Very...
