FB's Fancy Burgers — Restaurant in Adelaide

I wish I could give a good review but our first and probably only time trying Fancy Burgers was a big let down. Partner and I ordered two burgers and a small chips which cost us a whopping $30 for takeaway. We drove just down the street to Apex park to eat and enjoy some burgers. I had the Satay chicken burger which I was so excited about but when I tried it it was almost inedible. The chicken was just dry and slightly burnt tasting grilled chicken with no satay on the actual chicken itself at all. There was some sort of extremely sweet peanut sauce drizzled on it. There was also a really sweet tomato relish and sweet mayonnaise. The most edible part was the fresh tomato and lettuce. I couldn't finish it as it was cold with all the sauce and like eating dessert, not at all savoury. My partner had the Hot Chicky burger which he described as having no flavour at all. The 'grilled' peppers was just a lot of slimy roast capsicum straight out of a jar and with no grill marks on it at all (was cold). Same super sweet tomato relish. He ended up pulling all the cold peppers off to try to eat it. The chips were ok. But as far as chips go not the best we've ever had. Nicely seasoned and plenty of salt so the star is for that. For $30 I have had much, much better...

Continually disappointed by the service from Fancy Burgers Blackwood. We are regulars and are frequently mislead by staff regarding wait times… told it will be 10 minutes, to arrive at the shop and be waiting another half hour or more. Customers will have no issue waiting provided staff are transparent and honest about how long the wait time will be. This is forgivable occasionally but this has been the case a majority of times we have visited.

Additionally, in the last 6 months we have had a burger patty with a piece of plastic container cooked into it?! got home to open the bag with the incorrect order. got to the shop to hear our order had been taken by someone else, no refund or complementary items, just told to wait another 20-30 mins for our order.

Burgers are generally good but management need to change their approach to customer service, encourage honesty, and employ more staff so that they can provide sufficient attention to detail and ensure orders are completed accurately...

It used to be my favourite place for burgers but unfortunately it has been ruined! We used to gather every now and then when George (business owner) used to work in the kitchen (blackwood branch) and supervise others. Although I had already tried it a year ago and it was very bad and promised myself not to go there any more, I was recently passing by and thought to give it another shot but was very disappointing! The patty was burnt on the edges with no seasoning. The only improvement compared to the last visit was waiting time for having my burger ready as I was the only person in the shop and it took 10 minutes versus an hour waiting. Not sure if George is still the owner but standing in the back stage or have sold the business, but its a big shame and pity for a successful business going downwards and only opening branches here and there with poor...
