I don't normally write reviews but I do need to give CREDIT where CREDIT is due. Staying 1st time at the ATURA Hotel, I was looking for a restaurant nearby and read some of the recent reviews of The Hangar Bar and Grill on Google, some of which were not very complimentary about service and quality of food. Reluctantly, I decided to go down for a quick dinner as I did not want to venture too far from the hotel. I was honestly pleasantly surprised!!! The waiter staff were welcoming and friendly. In particular, ISSY was fantastic, very attentive to all customers she served. Although the restaurant was busy, I noticed the turnaround from order to food being served to tables was very quick. You could see that no tables were waiting for their food and / or drink. I ordered the Prawn Linguine which was great. Prawns were firm and fresh, pasta was well cooked and the accompanying sauce was tasty very with a hint of chilly. The Cheesecake to end the meal was very satisfying. KUDO's also to BOH Kitchen Staff!!! Would recommend to anyone staying in the hotel to have a meal at...
Read moreThe Atura Hotel is attached to Adelaide airport. Inside the lobby is The Hangar Bar and Grill with a fully licensed bar and restaurant serving breakfast either full buffet style or a la carte. Lunch and dinner menus are available, as well as an all day light meals menu.
Service is professional and friendly. Meals are delicious. Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The design of this establishment has taken in to consideration that most of their guests are travelling and will have luggage with them so the whole area is set up to make manoeuvring very easy. There are areas with comfortable lounges and a pool table with Arrivals and Departures screens.
Fully licensed bar. Contact less payment only. Does not accept cash as payment.
The Hangar Bar and Grill is an awesome place to spend time having a drink or a coffee or a meal while visiting Adelaide Airport.
I haven't stayed in the Atura Hotel but I can imagine it is very stylish and...
Read moreI really think that some of the 1 star reviews here are a little on the whinger whinger side of the fence. In short they were probably not nice in the first place. You won’t receive respect if you don’t give it first.
Anywho, my wife and I had a good experience. My drink and meal (the salmon tataki bowl and G&T with dehydrated orange garnish) was great, five stars for me. My wife’s meal was the sang choy bow was nice. She gives the place four stars. That food came out quickly (about 8 minutes or so).
The price is a little on the high side but what do you expect from an hotel restaurant let alone an airport hotel restaurant. That said, by comparison to the Sofitel in Darling Harbour, Sydney (a five star place which bombed on service and delivered cold food), I would say that the Altura Hotel and restaurant experience was by far superior.
So yeah, ignore the whingers, be kind to the staff and you probably have a good...
