As I awaited my flight, I decided to grab a quick meal at the just opened Hawker Bar, expecting fresh as they just opened I opted to order the combi from the hot box. However, my hopes were quickly dashed as I delved into my meal and realized that what I had received seemed more like leftovers from the night before. The quality of the food was abysmal, leaving much to be desired. Not only was it lacking in taste and freshness, but the portion size was also disappointingly small, especially considering the price I had paid for the combo meal, which turned out to include nothing you pay extra for beef which is odd cause they had beef and chicken only. To add insult to injury, the exorbitant prices charged by Hawker Bar only served to exacerbate my dissatisfaction. While I understand that airport dining often comes with a premium, I expected at least some semblance of reasonable quality for the price paid. In conclusion, my experience at Hawker Bar was nothing short of disappointing. The subpar quality of the food coupled with the steep prices ensures that I will not be returning anytime soon. A missed opportunity for a satisfying dining experience amidst the hustle and bustle of the airport.

Misleading, disappointed and breakdown in communication. The All Day Meal Combo (first photo ) offers at least eight choices, however there are only five on offer (second photo). I think that sign is misleading. I did ask if they could cook the options I wanted. The reply was "We have these only." Of those, there is very little "beef in black bean". The gentleman next to me asked if they would cook some more of the beef. The reply was negative. I went for the chili chicken and the mixed vegetables, with rice. The vegetables were cold and over cooked. I had to ask to have my meal reheated. The first photo also states wine for $10 per glass with this "deal" yet I was charged the full price until I pointed out the issue, and then repeated myself. In retrospect, I should have gone elsewhere. I had finished my meal well before my husband received his chicken dim sims. He said they were very good but he didn't like the wait time - about 15 minutes. Please check your bill.

Stopped in at Hawker Bar before my flight. For airport dining, it was a solid option. The place was neat, tidy, and clean, which set a good first impression. Service was quick — food came out faster than expected, which is exactly what you want when you’ve got a boarding call looming. The meal itself was decent: reasonably priced for airport standards, with enough flavour to keep it interesting. That said, it could have packed a bit more punch — some of the dishes could benefit from bolder seasoning or fresher balance. From looking at other reviews, it seems consistent: when you order fresh off the menu, you’re more likely to have a good experience, whereas the bain-marie options can be hit and miss. For me, it landed in the middle — not exceptional, but certainly not bad. All in all, Hawker Bar is a handy, reliable stop if you want something quick and Asian-inspired before your flight. Just don’t expect a culinary revelation, and you’ll leave satisfied.

As I waited for my flight, I decided to try the n Hawker Bar, hoping for a fresh and satisfying meal. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. I ordered the combo meal, assuming it would be fresh. However, the food I received tasted more like reheated leftovers dry and stick!

The quality was extremely disappointing — bland, stale, and utterly lacking in freshness. The portion size was also very small, especially considering the high price I paid. Strangely, the combo didn’t include beef, and I was told I’d have to pay extra for it, despite beef and chicken being the only available options. This made no sense and felt misleading.

What made the experience worse was the pricing. I understand that food at the airport usually comes with a markup, but the prices at Hawker Bar were outrageous for what was served. If I’m paying a premium, I expect at least decent quality — not this.

Overall, my visit to Hawker Bar was extremely disappointing. Poor food quality, unreasonable pricing, and misleading combo options ensure that I won’t be returning. A real letdown in what could have been a great dining option...

While waiting for my flight to Melbourne, I wandered into Hawker Bar at Adelaide Airport, hoping to find something warm and familiar. I ended up ordering the nasi goreng, and it was exactly what I needed — comforting, savoury, and satisfying.

The flavour was a mix of Malaysian-Indonesian style, with just the right balance of spices and a hint of wok hei. There were generous pieces of chicken, a perfectly fried egg on top, and some crunchy prawn crackers on the side.

It’s not trying to be anything fancy — just solid, flavorful comfort food that hits the spot during travel. I’m glad I chose this over something bland or overly Western, especially since I was already craving Asian flavours.
