I've been coming to this place for the last 2 years since I moved to the area. At times I was visiting more than once a week. I loved the place, really enjoyed the sushi and the staff were always helpful and cheery.
I know 2020 has been hard for a lot of people but since the start of the year the restaurant has been on a steady decline. The staff are visibly annoyed to have to give you any kind of service. They dawdle across to help then run back to their mate to have a chat. The accuracy of service matches the effort put into the speed of the service, having to ask for items several times.
The train is always half empty, I assume this is to make sure only fresh sushi goes out but its all premade, waiting on the bench and stale by time you get it anyway.
There are couple of staff that are still friendly and when they're on the sushi is better but the culture of complacency is rife. Its sad to see this restaurant fade away into a bland, forgettable experience.
Edit: came back. Service was once again terrible. Uber Eats prioritised over visiting customers. Service when you do get it is slow as. Dude cut him self pretty badly and still...
Read moreDespite it being a busy afternoon and it having a few people coming in. I was surprised to see there was very little variety of sushi being made. The sushi train area did not have a wide selection and the quality/quantity of each plate was lacking.
The prices are quite high, especially for what it had to offer. 2/5. Sorry but I don't think I'll be back. I found other sushi train places have better sushi at a much better price. $36 for 5 plates is something to keep in mind.
Staff were always starting at customers and tried to take a plate from a near by customer next to me before they had finished.
The floor was sticky and dirty, as well as the table area not being cleaned properly. Not much cutlery available at your sitting atea, had to wait for the ones on the train....
How are the plates counted and prices were calculated once you finished?? Staff did not give receipt or give me a bill on what I had. $36 is way too steep for 5 plates in my opinion.
Overall, food was ok - Ive had better sushi at The Sushi Train...
Read moreI recently visited it, and had a disappointing experience. I ordered vegetarian dishes, but my order was incorrect. The sushi maker argued with me for several minutes, insisting the mistake was mine, instead of checking with the waiter who took the order and made me feel confused and didn’t give a chance to explain. When I asked for another order she continued to argue, which made me lose my appetite to ask anything. To top it off, my friend took a take away order which noticed later that was a wrong sushi in it as well.
Proper customer service is key to a positive dining experience, and unfortunately, I didn’t feel that here. I was made to feel at fault instead of having the issue resolved professionally and nicely not with loud voice over me! I won’t be...
