NNQ is used to be one of my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Adelaide and I have visited it for quite a few times in different occasions in the past few years. However, after an awful experience in today's lunch dinning, I have changed my score from 5 to 1 due to absolutely unacceptable customer service.
Dining in as three families (6 adults) with three little babies for social gathering, the staff there seems confused for our visit despite we have made our reservation in advance, and arrange a very long table that can seat 10 adults, which leaves us far away from each other and literally have to yell to speak. After being seated, we have been left unattended over 15min even though the dinner area is less than one third occupied, no water, no menu. Until we asked, we have been told they are no longer offering paper menu due to COVID-19 and have to go to their website to find an e-menu to order in the restaurant. This is understandable, but as the website is poorly designed and unstable, one of us cannot even open the e-menu so she just order with her memory. Throughout the entire process there is no one providing any advice or guideline, which takes us longer to get the food.
Even worse, after the food is served, the female staff who works in the reception without wearing the uniform, come to tell us our table is only allowed to use for 1.5 hour that only leave us 40min to finish our food that just been served. She is very rude, pushy and unprofessional, treat us like we owe her money personally. She even insist she mentioned this dining time rule over the phone in our reservation, despite it was a male staff who answered our call.
Until then, our happy mood of social gathering have been completely ruined and have to rush to finish our food before our time is up. When we pay the bill, we just find out the rude female staff is happily chat with a white customer in another table, like she just get a family.
Sorry, NNQ, you just ruined your reputation by one staff, and are removed from my dining list forever.
I still keep my original positive post a few years ago as below Authentic Vietnamese restaurant with great food. Good value for money with big portion and good taste. Need some improvements in customer service (all waiters and waitresses are...
ย ย ย Read moreTerrible/Quality/Quanity I was a regular customer at NNQ from when it use to be located at Ferryden Park.
I've been at the new location at Woodville & was not impressed. they served me a bowl of Pho with a piece of what it looked to be a plastic bag in my soup. I was told "Sorry" they did not replace my meal & i had to pay for it. no star rating.
I've also ordered their vietnamese pancakes/banh xeo which came out like a taco but burnt. I asked the waiter/waitress if they could fix my meal but denied my complaint & i was left with dissatisfaction. 1/5
Their combination rice does not come with Egg & is poorly made in general. Their Roast pork is chewy and not crunchy also charging and extra dollar for an egg which as other vietnamese restaurants give it to you with the dish. 2/5 not recommended.
I've been to their old location & a new restaurant has opened named Mai Kitchen. I've tried it a few times & i must say, the best vietnamese dishes made. The flavors & quality/quantity is perfect, the waitresses there are super freindly too. Always came to ask if we had any trouble witht the food they could fix but it was always great from their pho to combination rice & other Vietnamese/Chinese food they serve. Highly...
ย ย ย Read moreOn 29th July 2023, I visited NNQ and ordered two bowl of combination beef Pho, a Noodle Soup, and an entree crispy quail. To my dismay, while enjoying the dish, I discovered a metal string in the soup. This discovery was not only shocking but also hazardous to my health. I must emphasize that finding a foreign object in my food was an alarming and concerning incident.
Despite bringing this matter to the attention of the waitress, I was met with only an apology, wanting to get me another new bowl of Pho but Iโve already 75% finishing, so I donโt need a new bowl of Pho. Just I turn down their offer for a new bowl of Pho, there is no further action or compensation. It was disheartening to be left without any resolution, especially after encountering such an unsettling and unsanitary situation.
I firmly believe that proper measures should be taken to address such incidents promptly and efficiently. As a customer, I expect the highest standards of food safety and quality when dining at any restaurant. The lack of compensation and the mere apology provided by the waiter at the cashier are inadequate in resolving...
