We ate at the Port Noarlunga Hotel a couple of weeks ago on a Thursday night - 'Snitty Night' and booked a table earlier in the week. From memory it was about $13.90 for chicken or beef Schnitzel plus any toppings or sauces. We started with an Entree each, the Arancini.....3 in a serve, quite tasty, presented beautifully. The dressing was delicious and I just wish there had been more of it but thats my fault for not asking. For mains the Wife had the beef with Mushroom gravy and I had Chicken with the 'Brekky' topping which was Cheese, Bacon, Egg and Hollandaise sauce. I asked for extra Hollandaise on the side and glad I did as it also was really good. The chips served with the meal were the best we had had in a long time and were seasoned perfectly......the chefs secret seasoning we were told. Put our local fish and chip shops chips to shame that's for sure. As far as service goes, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us, providing a salad that catered for an allergy and all were friendly and helpful. Overall it was really pleasant and enjoyable. Well Done to the staff at the...
Read moreDropped in for dinner on Good Friday The area has a few eateries and is a draw card around this time of year when people are out looking for alternatives for dinner.
We went with the beef snitzels, pubs show their worth with the quality of their snitties, after all the majority of the time its the cheapest main dish to produce.
Here, the salad was an abomination Why bother serving something so ridiculously small (i posted a pic of it to show how small it was) The chips were very nice The schnitzel was very average with the pepper gravy pot too small to service the schnitzel. Giving me the opportunity to taste the crumb, which too was very average.
The menu prices are on the higher side, and certainly, each dish is not worth this money for average to below average content.
To top it off A dinner roll, warmed and usually a beautiful gesture is offered. Unfortunantly ours arrived with two bites left on the schnitzel.
To be honest Perhaps skip the roll and serve a better salad or better still. . Do both and do it better
BTW dont bother looking for the pic of the salad it was too small...

Menu - standard pub grub with average prices. A good range of schnitzel toppings etc, some items advertised but disappointingly not available upon request, like Japanese style oysters.
Meal - Beef scnitzel with chips and gravy and 6 oysters natural. Schnitzel was fair in size, good crumb but a little rubbery at one end, trimming could have been better. Would have preferred less chips and on the side of the plate rather than under the schnitzel, as they went soggy. Oysters natural were medium in size and quality, accompanied with lemon and a quite nice lemon aoili. Watercress was a sensational fresh edition. A1 presentation on a black plate in an interesting shape, emphasised the yellow aoili and the yellow lemon.
Service - young staff, quite attentive and thoughtful. Food came out...
