I heard so much about this place, finally decided to try for myself.
The venue is located in Mawson Lakes, a confusing area with traffic calming everywhere instead of car parks. Accessibility for disabled people, is not really there. Tight table settings, which staff walked in to while carrying items, so perhaps redesigning to be ample for everyone inside.
Staff & service: Nice friendly start, but not much interaction or cleaning of dirty tables from staff. My table was dirty and I had to clean it using a wet napkin because none of the tables were properly cleaned.
Food: I'm sorry but it's really just average pub food with a hipster twist. Nice flavours and presentation, however almost $20 for a burger isn't really competitive. The quality is ok - 3/5 - Waffles were bit too over powered by the sauces, felt the mixture was too flour based.
Oat smoothie was nice and refreshing and hit the spot. Both Grilled chicken burger and beef bacon burger was nice, the chips were a winner.
Nice atmosphere, however it's pretty overpriced for pub food.
Side note: Management deal was going on inside the, both men talking about other business, most likely new management or business partnerships, however your customers shouldn't have to listen to loud portrayal announcements between business men, the experience was a little off putting as I heard their whole conversation - the men were really loud and their conversation carried in to the cafe. Pretty rude in my opinion, this type of thing should be for an office meeting or atleast lower your voice when discussing internal matters? I know the whole story now, one man (the Caucasian one talking loudly) bragged on about his life, owning businesses and overall having a real arrogance about him.
Other than that, average food. Sorry not going back. Staying away because I honestly don't trust the business now I've heard the men talking out openly, being disrespectful towards other businesses, really private stuff! Pretty shocking but not...
Read moreWow. So I come here occasionally. Never had a problem. This time, my poached eggs were hard. All good, asked for them to be cooked again and the waitress was nice. They come out again very raw and clear. I’m not getting salmonella lol understandable. So I ask for a refund because I need to go. Apparently I’m not entitled to a refund for raw food that’s their fault. The owner, an Indian man starts raising his voice at me and getting angry and saying not entitled to a refund and that they cooked it again and offered to cook it again the second time and gave me ‘the benefit of the doubt’. I’m sorry, the benefit of the doubt is when you’re talking someone’s word for it. He could see the food himself so not sure if he knows what that means. Anyway I ask for the food to take a photo to take it to B&C affairs. He starts waving his hands around and telling me to leave and get out and I can’t take a photo. I then ask for his name for the complaint I’m putting in. He refuses and is honestly so rude to me in front of other customers. All the waitresses are looking at me in sympathy and some mouthed sorry and actually apologised when I was waiting for him to give me his name. I was speaking calmly while he was being so rude and loud and kept telling me to move so he could serve customers. Avoid at all costs honestly.
Oh I forgot to add that I was with my 6 year old daughter. After asking for a refund and getting talked to so loudly and rudely in front of everyone, I had to sit down so she could finish her milkshake and onion rings. The onion rings were gross processed fake ones with basically no onion. I was so worked up I didn’t finish my big fresh juice and she felt so upset and embarrassed we just left the food and drink and walked out after getting his name. I’ve looked at other reviews and seems they don’t give refunds when it’s their fault. Better make sure they don’t stuff anything up! I think this is a regular occurrence by the way the staff...
Read moreThe coffee here is highly recommended. They do take away cups small $4 medium $4.60 and large$5.20. My husband and I dined in and they have two options we went for the larger one $4.60 definitely worth it even if I normally order small size coffee. The foam, the taste, the balance just perfect! I ordered vegetarian breakfast. My husband ordered vegan breaky and the only diff was mine had two eggs. The food was good, though I've taste better mushrooms and hashbrown. The place is right in the corner and easy to locate. The toilet is outside the cafe and part of the building so it's big enough than other cafe's w just small toilet. The cafe has enough space to walk, table set up not congested. They have outdoor seating which I think would be perfect when weather is beautiful. We did not wait too long to get the food serve we were there around 12pm there were few dinners but cafe was not full. In some cafe when customer about to leave they say thank you, did not hear it from the staff in spite there were two people in the counter when we were leaving. I will come back here for a coffee is we'll be...
