I recently ordered the braised beef with radish at Shiqi Restaurant, but the radish was incredibly tough and dry. It lacked moisture, was full of fibers, and left residue that even stuck between my teeth. I am certain the radish had either been stored for too long or was sourced from a very cheap supplier. However, since I’ve been a regular customer at this restaurant, I assumed this was just a one-off issue. As such, I kindly mentioned it to the staff while paying the bill, hoping they could address it and prevent this from happening again, as it might affect other customers’ experiences and the restaurant’s reputation.
To my surprise, the staff member responded in a very dismissive and strange manner. With an indifferent tone and a smirk, they said, “Oh, is that so? Maybe that’s just how this radish is. I don’t know.” Such arrogance and lack of care in the service industry are baffling to me. I believe that when a customer offers feedback, it should be received with understanding and reflection, not met with an attitude of indifference.
I also work in the service industry, and I genuinely value customer feedback. This experience left me confused and disappointed, especially since even the staff could see the radish was clearly old and not fresh. This kind of attitude and poor service has made me reconsider whether I should continue supporting this restaurant. I sincerely hope they take customer feedback seriously and improve their...
Read moreFirst time trying Shiqi Restaurant. We always enjoy going to good Chinese restaurants, so we decided to give them a try. Overall Shiqi was really great! The food was super tasty, with some unique dishes that aren't available elsewhere. . Pork bone and watercress soup: a great traditional way to start off a Cantonese style dinner. You can tell it has been boiling all day, and has really nice flavours! . Pipa tofu: fried tofu that is mixed with some prawns and other goodies. Nicely done! It was very tasty and soft on the inside 🤤🤤🤤. Loved the sauce. . Tea smoked duck: the duck was tender. The skin was crispy. Smokey flavours throughout. Perfect dish! . Tofu hotpot: a fairly typical HK style dish, vegetarian style. Good flavours. . Salted fish chicken fried rice: very typical dish in most Chinese restaurants. Theirs is very good! It wasn't overly fishy or salty or oily. Just a really nicely done dish. . Stir fried long beans: tasty without being overly salty. Good dish! . Spicy fried chicken: the chicken was super tasty! But omg it was spicy 🔥🔥😅😅😅. Good stuff though! . XO sauce cockles: the sauce was soooo good! And the cockles were fresh and yummy....
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with this restaurant.
Unpleasant Service: The waitstaff exhibited a consistently poor attitude, devoid of any smiles or friendliness. Their commanding tone made me feel uncomfortable throughout the entire meal. It is crucial for the staff to understand the importance of providing a welcoming and courteous atmosphere.
Order Errors and Inattentiveness: Despite clearly requesting a sugar-free cola, I was served rice instead. When I pointed out the mistake and requested the correct beverage, I was given a regular cola containing sugar. Such inaccuracies reflect a lack of attention to detail and disregard for customer preferences.
Seating Allocation and False Claims: Despite multiple empty tables in the restaurant, my party was inexplicably seated near the restroom. When I asked to be relocated, the staff rudely claimed that all other tables were reserved. However, during our entire visit, those supposedly "reserved" tables remained unoccupied. This misrepresentation of table availability was both frustrating and...
