The food is the most average blend of good and horrid I only tried 3 things the salami pizza wagyu sliders and schnitzel. First I had the sliders absolutely incredible but for the size not worth 20$ it had a good blend of meaty salty sweet and tangy the bread was soft and crunchy at the same time the meat was soft and chewy the cheese was pretty tasteless but quite rubbery except it got soft quite fast so I didn't mind and I'm not one to enjoy cheese but I did enjoy that cheese. I then had the salami pizza without chilli and olives except there was still chilli on it but I didn't mind since there wasn't much and I just picked the few slices off as of the taste though incredibly salty the onions and salami made a good blend except the worst part there was too much cheese as tall as the crust and the thinnest layer of sauce now I know that napoli sauce is thin but they should just use a thicker sauce that isn't tasteless instead of giving flavour to the dish it just made it wet and soggy the bread felt rough cause there was salt on the bottom overall a salty piece of bread cheese and salami . The chicken schnitzel was good except the taste was basically non existent but that's what the gravies for right nope better without gravy it was bitter too salty and also very drippy it barely stayed on the chicken it felt sloppy and poorly made the chicken was although very tender and juicy quite crispy . The waters that served us were very nice and polite they apologised sincerely for putting chilli's on our pizza the chefs prepared our meals in under ten minutes. The look of the restaurant is very ppuke coloured the walls are all black with some wierd looking paintings also a dark green that should've just been black and yellow green coushin seats that are rough uncomfortable and sink down too much also random decorations that look like a last ditch effort to make it look fancy. My overall review do not go here go somewhere like the pancake kitchen it's too tacky and overpriced for average food and also might I add three miniature desserts one of which is cheese just cheese and also carnal icecream served in a Dixie cup and for people that don't like fish absolutely do not come here 80% of the options are fish the moral of the story don't...
Read moreAfter a previously good experience at the Parkside, I booked my husbands birthday for 15 pax. This visit, we left disappointed.
First off, a family member was advised the playground was unavailable as it was booked for a private function. The playground was the main reason we booked this venue as we had 6 children in our group. I asked staff to confirm and was told it was booked, which I was very disappointed about as it clearly states on the website that it CANNOT be booked for private functions and is available to all guests at all times, which I mentioned to the staff member. 90 minutes later , after meals, we were told the playground WAS in fact open to use, and signage at the door then indicated it was open for use the entire time!
Secondly the table app ordering system malfunctioned multiple times. All our guests drinks were delivered to the table but ours were missed, apparently never making it to the bar system. Then our mains came out BEFORE our entrees, and well before any of our guests entrees or mains. On the digital receipt it somehow had selected for our mains to come with the entrees, yet that wasnt even an option when ordering. Other guests had their mains all delivered before their entrees as well.
Come time for cake we waited and waited for the table to be cleared from our mains but it never happened. Without a staff member in sight as they were all swamped with a private function or the bar, I had to ask for the table to be cleared, which staff happily obliged.
They bought the cake out, but then again had to hunt down staff for a lighter for candles, then a cake knife, then plates. We gave up and ate with our fingers rather then hunting down more forks.
Overall was a disappointing experience, which appeared mostly caused by being understaffed with private functions, football fans, and then general dining as well. Staff were generally polite and respectful, but communication and service was lacking as they seemed well stretched to keep up.
Whether we try again in the future Im not sure, but at the moment we...
Read moreSaturday lunch Visited the Parkside hotel for the first time in Saturday. Nice venue located on the eastern fringe of the city. The venue has a number of sections from outdoor eating, and more private areas, including a small outdoor playground. The outdoor playground provided enough entertainment for the adults to eat in peace and still view the kids playing.
Menu is as extensive offering the usual pub classics to a few more exotic dishes. They also have a good kids menu to choose from.
We were a group of 11, and ordered bruschetta, garlic bread and calamari to share. Bruschetta had a nice glaze but not overpowering and calamari were tender and well seasoned - both standouts. Kids meals followed soon after - fish and chips were the go, and these were cooked well and looks inviting. Kids meals included ice cream which always goes down well.
Adults choose the burger, steak sandwich, steak, and asian style chicken salad.
Most meals were good, steak sandwich for me was very good, flavours were spot on and really enjoyed it. Chicken salad needed a little more punch from the dressing, and didn’t have enough chicken.
Staff were accommodating due to the last minute booking. Food arrived quickly and dishes were presented well.
Overall a good experience and...
