The Crossing Cafe — Restaurant in Alstonville

Possibly the worst service I have gotten in a cafe in a long time. I am from Sydney and was visiting on business. I wore a mask when I entered (to protect everyone else because I am from sydney) and when I entered the waiter looked at me in a disgusted manner. I ordered and took a seat. He bought me my coffee and it full cream milk and not with soy I milk as I requested. I asked about it and he said “that’s what you ordered”. I knew I didn’t but he just walked off... Every other cafe on the planet would actually just replace it... not this place ... it’s my fault because he didn’t like me because I was wearing a mask in a pandemic - wow im sorry !!!! I just want to protect the public because I am a health worker. Thanks for such a disappointing coffee and making me feel...

Three of us ordered veal schnitzel with Turkish bread, rocket, caramelised onion, tomato relish, avocado and cheese (didn't realise it was a burger). Two of us managed to finish it off but all agreed that the veal probably wasn't and the steak was so tough the knives provided had real trouble getting through it. The onion and relish were REALLY nice and the rocket actually had a good peppery taste. If I go back (visiting from Toowoomba) I will get same but swap out the schnitzel with corned or roast beef. Staff all very friendly...

Went for lunch, arrived at 11:15, breaky finished at 11:30, so decided to order from the lunch menu for to bring close to end of breaky time. Was told that you couldn't order for another 12 mins, as lunch started in 12 mins. Only had coffee and went elsewhere for lunch. My reckoning was that by the time I ordered coffee and paid for it. It was less than 10 mins for lunch menu. Somewhere else wanted my custom and $$. Logically it would have taken more than 10 mins to order/ prepare/ serve from the breaky menu, I would not...
