My colleague and I were a little surprised to find this place empty when we arrived at 7pm on a wet Thursday night. However, the lady approached us immediately we entered and suggested we sit under the heater, which certainly was welcomed. Perusing the menu, most of the standard Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai type of dishes one would expect were there, but some staples were also missing. Surprised to see Moreton Bay Bugs but didn't try them. We ordered Chicken Sweetcorn Soup and Satays for starters. The soup was pretty average - gluggy, dark yellow like it had colouring in it, and had peas in it - never seen this before. The satays were lovely. For main course, my colleague had beef in black bean which he was very happy with, and special fried rice which he found to be spot on. I ordered a spicy seafood hot plate, and it was awesome. The ingredients are served on your hot plate at the table, so they cook in front of you, and of course stay hot longer. The wine list was pathetic for a Barossa Valley restaurant, but I found a good one. I suggest BYO with $10 corkage for serious wine people, and maybe that is what they are expecting from customers. The decor was fresh and appropriate and the service was very good. We both felt the meals were a little overpriced, but that may be because of recent price rises for ingredients. Overall: Service - 4 Value - 4 Food - 4 Presentation -...
Read moreSadly this was a sub standard meal entree was was the trio of dim sim, prawn and mini spring roll these were very oily and served with plum sauce. No soy or pepper and salts on table. Dim sim was cold inside. The mains came out with special fried rice that went cold on table while we waited a further 10 mins for my husbands satay combination to come out. Then a further 15 mins later my main, pork and plum sauce. I had no plate as we were not sharing to even have some fried rice accross the table. I actually could not eat my main course as the pork was so heavily battered and hard and that I felt like i was eating dough. Ver expensive $20 for this meal with no side vegies. You can see from the photo these less than meat filled dry dough balls were not tasty and made me feel ill. The staff ladies were nice although the concrete floored resturant was so loud we could not hear the staff well to make our order or even talk to each other with a large very loud group in the centre of the place is was not nice to be there. The price was high for the quality of food. We will not return...
Read morePoor customer service, almost ruined our Valentine’s Day. We waved to the lady showing that we need her service, and she saw us. But she attended to the customers who came after our waving, who were standing at the door gate which I understood. However, she didn’t say anything to us. And after she settled those two new customers, she didn’t come to us (we actually sat pretty close to the door and the new customer) instead, she went to the reception desk again, doing something, and writing something. She didn’t tell the other waitress that we need service, and we saw the other waitress went to another customer and we got left behind waiting again without anyone saying anything to us. So to avoid further uncomfortableness, we just left because it is Valentine’s Day and we think we deserve some good...
