We had such a lovely evening at Otherness Wines. Definitely a night to remember. The food was absolutely delicious. We decided to purchase the $70 tasting menu which was an excellent decision encouraged by the service staff. Our personal favourites was the pork belly and pickled turnips with homemade sourdough bread. The food was simple and elegant with balanced flavours that made our palettes sing! Additionally, the atmosphere was spacious and minimal. I admired how Otherness Wines used natural light to their advantage which ultimately, illuminates the seating area. We are typically not heavy drinkers however, their selection of alcohol beverages were divine. My mother and I adored the Otherness Verthandi Riesling and my step dad loved the Turner Pils Beer!!

I cannot finish this review without mentioning the fabulous service staff that absolutely made our evening. The staff was attentive and polite, they gave us the best suggestions regarding food and wine but most importantly, it is evident that they really enjoy their work. Ultimately, customer service is at the forefront of their minds, ensuring that every customer leaves feeling satisfied with the wonderful memories and experiences made.

I would also like to mention that the background music added an element of “fun”, which furthered the beautiful ambiance of the place. Not only does the staff at Otherness Wines have an excellent taste in wine and food but in music too!

Thank you once again for making our night so special...

Disappointing. Despite the great looking venue and decor otherness missed the mark on the dining experience for us.

Empty customer service with lack of attention to detail. Small things like pouring a taste of wine before someone the bottle.

Duck egg aoli was bold and an interesting dish with unique flavours.

Deli meats sadly was only one type of meat with inconsistent serving sizes, as I noticed a table with 2 people had the same serving as us with 4 people.

Blue fin tuna was gentle and non offensive with subtle flavours.

Lamb was cooked juicy with a crispy skin, although this was a very simple dish with a mint sauce.

The biggest let down was the 'crispy pork belly'. Not only was the serving sizes small but the meat was overcooked dry with NO crispy crackling to be seen anywhere. For a simple dish, this should be executed well and is one of the key attributes of a good pork belly. I looked around on other people's plates and noticed the same disappointing pork belly.

I don't enjoy writing these types of reviews but genuinely want to inform the owners of my experience in the hope they will improve as they definitely are capable of...

Was initially a little worried when we walked in and it took the staff- what felt like an uncomfortably long time- to acknowledge us. But things got dramatically better from there.

This is a relatively new restaurant about a 10 minute drive from where we were staying in Tanunda. It's clean, minimal and modern.

Great menu with small dishes designed to share. Food was fantastic. Creative, simple but packed with flavour. We weren't very hungry after over-indulging throughout the day but ordered the figs, chicken, eggplant and tuna finishing the the flan for dessert. The eggplant and flan were the best dishes we've had in the region.

They also make their own sourdough on site!

This place is an absolute knock out. Affordable fine dining in a casual and friendly atmosphere.

Turning the lighting down to create a bit more mood would be our only suggestion to elevate...

We visited Barossa Valley this June for our first wedding anniversary and had the most wonderful dinner at Otherness. One of the local wineries recommended it, and it truly exceeded our expectations! Everything we had was exceptional - from the food to wine. The owner recommended the local wine - Riesling was a perfect match with our dishes. The standout for us was the Coffin bay oysters - absolutely next level! We often enjoy oysters in Sydney, these were by far the best we’ve had. We are so glad we found this place - the service, atmosphere, and overall experience were fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

One of our most enjoyable meals for a while, and our first dinner on our first trip to Barossa! The Soft Polenta with Fennel & Gremolata and Braised Lamb was utterly delicious. We also ordered Fried Jersey Cheese with Mexican chili, Pepitas & Blood Orange as well as Pan fried Garfish, Chermoula & Sugarloaf Cabbage, both very tasty. The staffs were professional, attentive and knew what they were doing, including helping with wine selection and even lending me a charger for my phone. I particularly enjoyed the range of Riesling. Definitely a place to return for a meal.

We discovered this little gem when last in Barossa few weeks ago and we loved the food (the unusual dishes and the freshness of the vegetables), the wines of course, the service with Tess who was bubbly and full of smiles and good advice. The region is quite quiet in the evening and this is one of the few spots with great ambience. The owner Grant is a great host, happy to share stories and his knowledge on wine is impeccable, he is also a wine maker himself, all in all very highly recommended !!!
