We decided to visit haynes Bar and grill after having amazing chicken parmy's previously, sadly very disappointing, chicken parmy was nearly half the size we had previously and were seeing in photos, my meal was cold the potatoes were like they had been deep fried not roasted and certainly no garlic to be found they were like eating cardboard. it was like they had deep fried them twice as they tasted very dry and bland, I got one stem of broccolini two rings of zucchini and around 8 long beans and my scotch fillet tasted chewy and fatty. it was all a huge let down and i was left feeling very hungry afterward. Once we'd finished we sat talking for a couple of minutes only for me to see whoever was cooking touching a mobile phone twice and proceeding to use unwashed hands to cook again. To top it all off there was a male server who was telling what appeared to be a funny story which was/is totally fine, have fun at work no problem with it but it was the fact he was in the kitchen where he stuck finger in his mouth making a weird noise mere moments later stopped talking turned and picked up plates of food without washing his hands. I mentioned this to the waitress that took our plates away so she had a word with him, he came out and apologised whilst also claiming he washed his hands, but I know he did not. Honestly what a waste of money and hygiene practices...
Read moreAfter Haynes supported our schools fundraising we decided to celebrated my son’s 18th birthday there as they had child friendly facilities after having to delay 2 weeks due to illness the staff were very helpful moving and confirming the booking .We had some amazing helpful and friendly service staff on the night, a taller blond haired lady talked us through the ordering made sure we were ok with meals coming out scattered as we were ordering separately and cheerfully discussed a birthday treat for the dessert for my son. When we explained that many attendees had disabilities she was very understanding and kind towards the different personalities ordering. Our only issue is that we generally choose child friendly venues because of the smoking bans. Unfortunately there were many smoking patrons directly at the exit or directly at the playground fence the security were subjected to second hand smoke all evening which by their hand waving was not pleasant for them. Sadly the children with respiratory diseases struggled to play due to the smoke going into the playground which was unfair for them. Smoking restrictions prohibit (ban) smoking within 10m of any children’s playground equipment in Western Australia that is: children’s playground equipment in hotels, fast food outlets, eateries and...
Read moreBack in the metro after a few years in the bush, so time to revisit some local pubs and find a new watering hole. Were at Haynes Bar and Grill a few years ago and found the food and service then to be very average, but times change (or so you would think) so gave it another go Sun night. Partner waited at the 'wait to be seated' only to be welcomed with 'youre gonna have to wait you know' from a lady with pigtails.. Ok great start. Served at bar for a couple of drinks, delivered as requested, hey smile girl, its hospitality! Finally a friendly happy server in the restaurant, by way of a young blonde girl, (well done you!). Scotch Fillet, pepper suace, ribs, cheese garlic bread. Steak was average at best, not the greatest cut of meat, was cooked ok, pepper sauce was tasteless, watery and minimal, ribs were just ok, garlic bread - well top peices were good, bottom peices not so much as their topping was stuck to the bottom of the top peices leaving soggy bread devoid of topping. Plates still sitting on table when we left. Desert, not offered. Very average food and seevice for around $90 for 2. No this will not be the new local and no...
