Pre checked menu online and saw vegan options so decided to go on a Sunday. On arrival the server said there’s a long wait even when there wasn’t that many people and most of them had already had their order. Next had to negotiate the changed menu and saw some very lovely vego options which could’ve easily been changed to vegan. Just remove the cheese! But no. The server said it would be difficult to change menu items and take too long. They also said the menu changes every week? I asked them to ask the chef if could make the burger vegan and removed the ‘cheese infused’ felafel. Who does that? Anyway, they then offered the gnocchi or the ahem, bacon egg and cheese option I’m like do you even know what vegan means?! So I order one easily made vegan salad (which wasn’t) and they said that was the last one so without trying to help me order anything I walked away only ordering for my friend. So I came back and said look I’m not leaving without eating something and stressed myself out trying to work out the best option for me with no further constructive help from the server. So I negotiated again the burger without the patty. They then said the slaw isn’t vegan so I said I don’t care just burger with salad. They offered mushroom is said yes! Easy. Next a server comes out to some tables looking for whoever ordered vegan sourdough with mushroom. I’m like Nope not me but as she was about to walk inside I said I guess that could be mine but not what I ordered. Lovely lady offered some drinks but declined. There’s so much potential for vegan options here as the food is so lovely and fresh. Please don’t discriminate vegan options when you cater for gluten free. Vegan is so easy even when we are prepared to pay full price but remove cheese and burger and mayo etc. if that’s what it takes how hard is it? Not sure I’ll go back. Shame because Armidale really needs to get on board with offering...
Read moreAttended my mother's 83rd birthday girls brunch and it did not disappoint. The staff were really helpful and warm, you could have a conversation with the person opposite easily even though there were lots of people there. The food options was what you would expect for a brunch seating, however the surprise was the lime infused hollandaise sauce on my eggs Benny. I'm usually not a big fan of hollandaise and I tend to rate cafes personally on their use of it, as they all do something with it, so I order it, one bite in and I had a huge smile on my face, knowing this was going to be good. Very happy little person, and could eat that balance all...
Read moreOur second time here. Despite the positive experience during our first visit here, the second wasn't good. Poor organisation from the staff. There were many free tables but no one was clean and no a single waitress was going to clean it(they didn't look very busy behind the counter) so we had to sit in a dirty(water marks and food leftover)table, we cleaned it by ourselves with tissues and hand sanitiser. They didn't bring us tap water or cutlery, which we had to take them from another table. No lanch specials.
