A really disappointing meal, you could see the staff were trying really hard to do well but everything fell short of expectations. For the promotion of the venue and the cost we were hoping for something special but really got below average. They’d run out of sparkling water, our bottle of Prosecco was bought to the table tucked securely in the armpit of our wait person, where it stayed while regular wine glasses were put on the table as they’d run out of champagne flutes. Food was bland, one dish arrived cold and tasted like it had pickled cockles from an English pier rather than clams, the prawn ravioli tasted like it was covered in a microwaved white sauce (and this wasn’t the cold dish that returned 3 minutes after it had been returned mouth scalding hot) the vinaigrette on the house salad certainly ‘cut through’ and could probably have stripped paint as well. You could see that the staff were genuinely trying but it had the feel the place had gone too big too soon and would benefit from closing some tables and going back to getting the basics...
Read moreWe had a voucher for Cinnabar Kitchen which is / was our favourite restaurant in the Mountains. When we learnt it was no more, we were saddened but pleased that the visa was transferrable.
We went for dinner at Osteria 2785 last night to use the voucher, and were absolutely blown away!
The food is fresh, authentic regional style Italian at prices much more favourable that you would normally find in a modern Italian. We had 3 courses and every single dish was incredible!
I also like that every wine on the menu is served by the glass, which is nice as most restaurants offer some wine by the glass and you feel like you are missing out on some of the menu that only offer by the bottle.
The service was incredibly friendly, the staff are well selected as they clearly enjoy what they do and working with people. I also love the new deco and the intimate atmosphere.
We are very pleased to say that Osteria 2785 is our new favourite restaurant in the mountains and would recommend it to anyone no matter what your budget...
Read moreMy wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Osteria 2785 last Saturday, and it was an unforgettable evening. I ordered the Osso Bucco, which was tender, flavourful, and absolutely delicious. My wife had the Ragu di Angello, and it was equally outstanding – rich, hearty, and perfectly seasoned. For dessert, we shared the Tira‘Mess’U and the Affogato al Caffè, both of which were the perfect end to a delightful meal.
The ambience of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with a warm atmosphere that made for a lovely night out. The service was top-notch, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive.
The only thing I regret is not taking photos of the incredible food to remember the night by! If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, Osteria 2785 is an...
