I was looking forward to a Friday Lunch at this Cafe.. Viewing the Bonny's Beach Cafe online menu after a swim then walked in and asked may I have a ham cheese, tomato toasted sandwich Please and a Coffee Milk Shake? The Elderly lady Owner said Bluntly like a sledge Hammer, no to the Toasted Sandwich...That's only takeaway,😳 haven't you read this menu ? as she handed it to me.. I said I have read the Menu that is online & she said no that's not current and I'm not Changing it & haven't got time 🤔 Nothing like a sidekick to the Head when you're trying to spend Money Locally.. seriously, is it that hard to put a toasted sandwich on a plate 🙄 And take my money. Majority of the prices are higher on in-house menu & takeaway menu Let alone many are scribbled out and adjusted higher prices as well.. Just the coffee milkshake please. (which is also higher in price on in-house menu.. ) It came out like milk so then I asked The owner after a few minutes thinking I can't enjoy this, may I have some coffee in this It just tastes like plain Milk I'm sorry.. To her credit the owner made another one and this time A Coffee Milkshake..✅ I did hear a mum and child say they don't have Chocolate flavour Milkshake Left🙄 Seeing the owner throw liquid over the balcony From unfinished drinks was not a good look.. With the owner knowing that I was disappointed knocking me back from having the most basic Cafe food she then yells out Thank you in a condescending way As I walk out the door and give a wave.. She might need to fly down to Melbourne just to see what friendly customer services is .

We used Bonnys Beach Cafe to cater for our wedding reception in May 24. From our first contact with Marty we were treated well. We were able to relax and let the Bonny Team look after us. The layout of the club reception area was exceptional! Rin got our vibe: the room was decorated with flowers, candles fairy lights and cushions giving a casual beach boho feel. Especially loved the views of Rainbow Beach as the sun set. Thank you Rin! The food! Roseanne excelled with the catering - everyone commented on how delicious and healthy it was- high quality a la carte style, filling, plenty of it and nobody went hungry! Thank you Roseanne and your lovely team. Thank you also to Peter and Michelle who ran the bar cheerfully and efficiently. The tab lasted till late in the evening and nobody went thirsty! A great variety of beverages- good quality wine and beer, plus plenty of soft drinks for the kiddies. Thanks to Bonny Hills Cafe and Surf Cub we had a fantastic wedding: our friends and family are still talking about the experience. Highly recommend the location, venue management and catering for Your Big Day!!

This cafe is a bit of a local gem; it shines brightly when the light flickers on its facets but if the lights are out, you’d better just keep going. Sad really, because on every occasion I’ve had dinner at this establishment (I’m a local), the food has been A1! Last night my partner & I had some delicious fish cakes with broccolini, beans & fries. Exceptional! The service is also a bit ‘hit & miss’ with a hint of arrogance by some staff and the master of the establishment sometimes bright & cheery, and sometimes off in his own world of contemplation. Unfortunately, opening for dinner at this cafe is somehow tied into the operation of the adjoining surf club bar, run by volunteers who don’t get paid & would rather be at home sipping sherry & watching the footy 😉. The cafe’s nighttime opening hours over the last 3-4 years have been highly irregular, which is not good for nighttime business. However, they are a cafe no less, and they open at 7am seven days a week! My recommendation: if you’re driving past any evening & the lights are on, jump in, you won’t be disappointed.

Extremely disappointed in Roseanne's attitude after welcoming our booking 3 months prior for 30 people, close to the occasion she was very difficult to talk with. The staff did their absolute best but were stressed and under the pump. Consequently we had a guest chain gang filling 30 plastic cups from the water fountain - no water bottles or jugs available, and collecting tools and serviettes for the entrees. Definitely not the venue for large groups. A shame as the view is stunning and previous visits have been enjoyable. Date of visit 9th September 2023

5/11/23. Roseanne, my 1st instinct was not to respond on a public forum to the load of nonsense and untruths in your post yesterday, 4/11/23 but given my name is out there, unlike your ANONYMOUS post I decided to reply. (1). You advised me by text only FIVE DAYS prior to our luncheon (a booking that was welcomed by you 3 months earlier) that we would have to clear the cafe by 2pm as you had booked another function for 4pm!!! In my following phone call I said it simply wasn't possible to guarantee that would happen....30 guests.... 3 courses....and a "Thanks for coming to my 80th" speech but I would do my best by 2.30pm. Your response was Bands on the Deck was happening and it would be too busy and noisy for that, and suggested "if I wanted to take over your cafe I should book the Surf Club next door". Of course it was not available with 5 days notice.

(2). Far from trying to get staff members sacked I actually sent a thank you card to the cafe to the 3 staff members, Glyn, Sarah and Connor, thanking them for working their hearts out that afternoon, do hope it was given to them, and spoke to Sarah's Dad about what an awesome job she did . Hardly the actions of a 'pushy bully'. Also Glyn genuinely thanked me for getting guests seated, ordering quickly and moving guests out by 2.30.

(3) No idea where the word 'incompetent' came from. Certainly not from me, and the only 'personal staff detail' I requested was the name and phone # of the other cafe Roseanne was renovating as I had had no response to my requests over the previous 2 weeks for her to contact me confirming details for my husband's 80th birthday lunch. To your final statement...... NO....... we will not be returning to your cafe along with many other friends who are aware of the story and the angst you created on what should have been a wonderfully happy occasion. If the post on Google yesterday was not from you I apologise for using your name but as "the owner" I assume that...

I recently visited Bonny Hills again after not visiting for a while.

While there I thought that I might have a coffee while at the beach, thus I headed to the perfectly situated beach cafe to get my usual flat white. While waiting I was amazed by the wonderful view of the beach and it's golden sand as well as the surrounding area visible from the balcony. As well the whole establishment had a great seating arrangement, with decorations throughout the whole place, giving it lots of character.

After I got my coffee, I found that it's was about mediocre. It was definitely coffee, and I was able to drink it without gagging, but it was lackluster in a few ways; (1) Although its called a flat white it should still a have a some foam on top to give it a nice silky texture, however the coffee I received was about as silky as normal unfrothed milk. Thus I would recommend anyone who wants a flat white should probably order a latte instead. (2) Overall I found that the coffee was quite bitter, which might be fine if you drink coffee just for caffeine intake, but as someone who likes to enjoy my coffee I found it disappointing. (3) Finally I feel that they were slightly lazy when using the milk jugs and might have had normal milk in the jug they used to froth my lactose free, as after I had left I got a small stomach ache.

After this I would have been fine doing of 3 or 4 out of 5, except all good will I had was ruined by the customer service. When I first arrived I noticed attentive staff, taking and making orders and listening to customer feedback, and I had no issues when ordering. But while I was sat down admiring the view and drinking my coffee, I noticed a more elderly lady who must have been the owner emerge from the back of the cafe to berate a young looking server for what seemed like a simple mistake. After this she went to the front to take orders meaning I had the displeasure of dealing with her when I went to provide feedback for the coffee. Overall during the conversation she was very rude and condescending, trying to make me feel like I was in the wrong.

Overall my experience was ruined by entirely by this interaction with this witch, completely souring all of the good things like decorating, location, and kind employees. If you want good coffee and good service, I would recommend going to somewhere else in Bonny Hills like Crave...
