Barking Cow Cafe — Restaurant in Bridgetown

Was really disappointed yesterday. Had previously been at The Barking Cow when catching up with family (great point for us to "meet in the middle" travelling from nearby towns). Yesterday I went in around 10.40 and wanted to book a table for 4 adults and a baby and was advised that baby's weren't welcome. Yet.. there was toddlers and other kids there - what was the problem? You lost our business. We ended up buying from the bakery (over $70 worth) and having a picnic at the playground.

There is only 1 barking cow cafe in Bridgetown and I have been there as a customer multiple times before and never had an issue, but then again never asked for a table for 4 adults and a baby before either. You were quite busy when I came in, but no excuse to be told this or spoken to like this. I left very annoyed and upset and promptly searched for some other option to eat as we had two family members and their child ready to join us. At the time I came in the young girl was cleaning the smaller table on the RHS near the front, the middle bench / table had a number of people including a toddler and the LHS 4 seater tables were full also though one group looked to be...

Having just moved from Canada, I feel constantly disappointed with the complete lack of attentiveness in customer service existing in F&B industry in Australia, until I visited the Barking Cow. It cost them nothing to greet us when we walked in the door, chat about their favourite choices, quality check our enjoyment after a few bites, clear our dishes and ask if we'd like anything else, but it was noteworthy care and interest in their customers and business that won't be forgotten and it meant a lot to us. We stopped in because my Mum took my uncle there when he was quite unwell from Chemo and couldn't eat much. The personal care they took with his needs were memorable for her too. Thanks peeps. This Cafe in beautiful Bridgetown definitely is worth its five star rating. The food is amazing, the staff are so polite and friendly and professional but it's the owner of the Cafe that truely makes this a five star Cafe to eat at. Her dedication to her business is beyond reproach , she bakes fresh every morning her own bread and rolls plus uses her family's recipes for the making of the biscuits and cakes. Her attention to detail and the fact she takes the time to personally speak to each customer and ask how their meal is to me is a five star quality.
