Was really disappointed yesterday. Had previously been at The Barking Cow when catching up with family (great point for us to "meet in the middle" travelling from nearby towns). Yesterday I went in around 10.40 and wanted to book a table for 4 adults and a baby and was advised that baby's weren't welcome. Yet.. there was toddlers and other kids there - what was the problem? You lost our business. We ended up buying from the bakery (over $70 worth) and having a picnic at the playground.
Having just moved from Canada, I feel constantly disappointed with the complete lack of attentiveness in customer service existing in F&B industry in Australia, until I visited the Barking Cow. It cost them nothing to greet us when we walked in the door, chat about their favourite choices, quality check our enjoyment after a few bites, clear our dishes and ask if we'd like anything else, but it was noteworthy care and interest in their customers and business that won't be forgotten and it meant a lot to us. We stopped in because my Mum took my uncle there when he was quite unwell from Chemo and couldn't eat much. The personal care they took with his needs were memorable for her too. Thanks peeps. The food is amazing, the staff are so polite and friendly and professional but it's the owner of the Cafe that truely makes this a five star Cafe to eat at. Her dedication to her business is beyond reproach , she bakes fresh every morning her own bread and rolls plus uses her family's recipes for the making of the biscuits and cakes. Her attention to detail and the fact she takes the time to personally speak to each customer and ask how their meal is to me is a five star quality.
