UPDATED 10 MARCH 2022 SADLY BRIDGETOWN BAKERY IS THE PLACE TO AVOID NOW. We stopped at the bakery and were greeted with a rude surely young woman (all the friendly staff were gone) this was the second time this particular young woman was serving and she is very unpleasant, but in these times we pushed on and ignored her rudeness, as she may have her reasons. I purchased a chicken and avocado roll for $12.00 VERY EXPENSIVE but businesses are struggling, so we understand that if we buy take away it will be expensive. My EXTREMELY expensive cheese roll which was advertise as a chicken and avocado roll contained ZERO CHICKEN however it did contain three very small processed crumbed slithers of something grey, unidentifiable and not edible (definitely not real chicken, perhaps that chemical processes stuff that large companies use for chicken nuggets) and three very thin slices of avocado in a doughy roll STUFFED FULL of grated cheese, ( I can not stress HOW much grated cheese was in this roll, IT WAS YUK) SO MUCH CHEESE it was disgusting and inedible, thus thrown in the bin and a complete waste of our money. The roll contained so much cheese to give the ILLUSION it contained chicken and avocado. If it had contained real chicken and avocado it would still have been expensive but it would have been a lovely take away treat. Sadly MY VERY EXPENSIVE AND DISGUSTING CHEESE ONLY ROLL will be the LAST TIME WE EVER VISIT BRIDGETOWN BAKERY. Bridgetown bakery have you changed hands? What is the issue here? I absolutely want to support local BUT NOT when locals behave in this manner, we can not afford to spend our hard earned money in these uncertain times to support a business that does not do the right thing . SO DISAPPOINTING. Great place to stop for very nice bakery items :) Lovely staff,...
Read moreOn my drive down to Pemberton, we stopped in both on the way there and back.
First time I got a vanilla slice (I normally LOVE vanilla slice) and was so disappointed with the flavourless jelly that I got from it. Really disappointed as I really enjoy local town bakeries on my road trips.
On the way back, I thought I’d try again, and instead asked the staff what the best pie was. The lady didn’t respond but just said “all we have left are these 3 options”. (Only 11:30am so bit of a surprise that barely any flavours left).
As others have mentioned below, the pie was 80%+ just gravy, with bits of meat floating in it. The pastry in on both my pie and my friends just crumbled away leaving the gravy to start slipping out the side, and 20% of the pastry packing its way to the pavers.
Both the pie and the vanilla slice were left mostly uneaten as I threw them in the bin.
Really disappointed in the experience, and will be warning family to avoid the...
Read moreThe service was really good here at this little bakery on the main street of Bridgetown. So, two stars out of five for the service and location.
Sad to say, our meat pie experience was not so pleasing. I had the steak and kidney pie, and the main flavour was pepper and not a hint of kidney whatsoever. Not a chunk, not a snippet, not even any flavour of kidney, just pepper. I was most disappointed 😞 I gave the rest of my pie to hubby as he loves a pepper pie luckily... but My hubby had the steak and mushroom pie and was deeply disappointed as the pastry wasn't cooked properly underneath, was soggy and falling apart on first bite and was all gravy and mushroom and barely a stitch of meat, if any at all. 😪 He's like, "Where's the beef man?" If we hadn't left town already, we definitely would've taken them back for a refund. Sorry for the poor review... but one bad pie could probably escape a poor review, but...
