The staff on duty this morning were lovely, served us with a smile and were very prompt about bringing out some sprinkle cupcakes to my two toddlers who I was wrangling solo this morning. The coffees were fabulous (and what initially prompted me to come back for a second visit to this cafe this trip). However $26 for 2 take away plain croissants is exceptionally steep pricing. I purchase my fair share of sourdough and artisan croissants in Melbourne so I like to think I know a little about this…I have never in my life paid $13 for a plain croissant (possible $8-$9 tops and this is for a filled/stuffed croissant), but sure if that’s the going rate in Bright I was willing to bite the bullet. To add insult to injury however (and what really prompted me to leave some feedback) is on top of the exorbitant price for a simple morning pastry, both of the croissants we received were stale. I ended up eating the remnants of one of my toddlers sprinkle cupcake and the same story unfortunately. Thankfully my youngest was a fan of the little side of jam despite the lack of croissant to use it on. This was an unfortunately disappointing end to our annual visit this year. Like I said, very friendly staff and the coffee is on point - whilst I would come back for the morning caffeine hit I would recommend skipping the food!

Edit to Respond: Thanks for the response Coral Lee - I appreciate it! :) Unfortunately it is perhaps a mistake on your end re: pricing then as I was definitely charged $37.59 for my first order (2 coffees and 2 plain croissants) and then $10.16 (2 sprinkle cupcakes). I’ve uploaded my receipts for sake of clarity. I did query the $13 charge for each croissant and was told “inflation” so I think whilst intent is perhaps there and maybe I should have been charged less, this pricing structure hasn’t fed through properly to your entire team. Unfortunately the croissants and cupcakes were definitely stale - happy to concede perhaps it was due to the croissants being heated and only eaten 5-10mins later after the short drive back to our place (although when I normally purchase croissants in this manner they’re not stale from a 5-10min time difference) however the cupcakes definitely weren’t heated and were straight from the fridge so I don’t really think you can explain this in any other light unfortunately. We left yesterday morning otherwise would have loved to come in and sort this out in person. Thanks team and...

Had an awsome stay in Bright and stopped off for a family breakfast with my family and dad at the honey bird cafe. We sat down read the menu off the wall and waited to be served. Only to find out you have to order at the cafe bar, which is fine if the cranky lady had taken the time to let us know. Then when we ordered, one my dad wanted one of the meals with sides etc but with poached egg vs scrambled. Then we were abruptly told cant mix menus. Seriously scrambled vs poached. Okay by now if I was not put off the food came out and i swear my 12 year old could plate up a better looking dish. Soggy Coles bread despite being told only served with sourdough. Beetroot straight from the tin. To keep positive the coffee was okay.

My daughter had the narchos that looked like cc's or Doritos with some rules and cheese (Not melted) really disappointed. And to make it worse I think we came here last year and were not impressed.

If your looking for nice breakkie in bright,...

The café was suggested to us by a local as my friends and I were looking for a good coffee. However, we were treated with bad service by the staff member who appeared too impatient as we are a bother to her. We ordered food that was on the Menu board outside only to be told that what they had left are the ones on the glass display. Well, they should have taken the Menu boards outside or updated them. All this time grumpy staff was not smiling and she served our coffee almost to a point that it was done in haste. She definitely made us feel we were not Welcome there. I felt slighted and can only think because we are people of color she was looking down on us. Do not eat at this place. Won’t ever go back to...

Great coffee. Fast service. Cozy little cafe on a cold day. Staff were very friendly despite screaming kids in this cafe and the place being packed. The menu looked great but we weren't eating in this occasion, even though the menu was very tempting.if you like good coffee and a small cozy venue, this is the place for you. Recommended.

We have been coming here for over 4 years during our winter holidays, now with New Management it’s even better! Flora is super friendly so welcoming and great person overall, this is definitely going to continue being our go to place, coffee is the best in town and food + service amazing
